I bought a Heartland Fuel 352 and called and they emailed me a factory sheet that shows dimensions and how the wall is built. Since yours is above where the "factory" location is for a TV, they should supply you with drawings showing the stud locations. For mine I cut a piece of 1-1/4" thick board a little bigger than the TV wall mount. I mounted the board to the factory TV backing in the wall (which ws smaller than the TV wall mount). Then I mounted the TV wall mount to my mounted board.Re: Help removing a Onan 5BGE starterIt's not on a sliding tray and not hinged in the rear. They don't make these things so you can work on them. Will have to pull genset completely of cut a hole in the back metal wall behind to get to the lower bolt/nut.Help removing a Onan 5BGE starterI've got an Onan 5BGE and I think the starter is out, it just makes an awful grinding sound when trying to start. Engine is not frozen up as I can turn it over with an allen wrench. I've tried to remove the starter and got the top bolt out and found out that it has a captured nut on the backside that fell out when I removed the bolt. I can get to the bottom bolt with a socket and extension but I can't reach the bottom nut on the back side to replace it when it would fall out. I don't have the resources to remove the generator itself sitting in my driveway so unless I find a way to get to that lower nut, I'll have to take it into the Onan dealer.Carefree Pioneer Awning conversionI'm looking at replacing my current Carefree of Colorado Fiesta FX awning because my springs are broken. I'm considering getting the Carefree Pioneer Arm set #971501WHT. I have a 96 model awning so I can't just get the Pioneer Upgrade Kit as that's just for 97 and up Spirit and Fiesta awning arms. Has anyone changed over to ether the whole Arm set or have a 97 and up awning and removed both springs and converted over using Carefree's Pioneer Upgrade Kit? How do you like the manual awning compared to the normal spring roll up awning? Thanks.Re: 1996 P30 OBD1 w/ OBD2 connectorI agree I probably have a left over 95 chassis even though my build dates are 4/96 for the p-30 chassis and 6/96 for the Itasca. The 454 tbi was standard and the vortec 454 was an option. But what gets me made about all this is all vehicles built after 1/96 were supposed to be OBD 2 and mines not and for added mess up they ran out of OBD 1 connectors and used the OBD 2 connector but the pins don't match. My OBD 2 scanner doesn't work as the only pins I have are 5, 6 & 9 and a OBD1 scanner won't work on a OBD 2 connector.1996 P30 OBD1 w/ OBD2 connectorI've got a 1996 Itasca on a P30 chassis w/454 TBI. I have a OBD2 connector but doesn't have all the terminals. I've read that it's really a OBD1 but Chevrolet ran out of connectors and installed a OBD2 connector. I've only got pins 5, 6 & 9, nothing else. My check engine light comes on. I have no way to read the codes. Any idea's without having to take it to the dealer? Thanks, JohnRe: Cost of front brakes??Here's prices from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Front pads - $26.99 and $29.99 for semi-metallic and $94.99 for carbon metallic. Front calipers - $73.99 - 122.99 depending on mfg and mounting locating (rear mount or forward mount). 3 hrs labor @ $95 = $285 They also probably charged you list price on all parts which would be higher that these prices. $122.99 x 2 = $245.90 + $94.99 + 285 = $625.89 + tax and shop supplies. I don't understand why you needed brakes anyway with only 16,000 miles on it.Re: Auto ParkI've got a 96 Itasca and my foot pedal doesn't seem to do anything but go all the way to the floor without any resistance like you have in a car putting on the emergency brake. Is it supposed to be like that? I have the switch down on the pump replaced 2 yrs ago as it was leaking (I guess it wass the green one) Which switch activates the warning light and buzzer on the dash? Mine doesn't seem to light up and/or buzz anymore. Also, Is there some way to add a cable or something to the foot pedal to mechanically activate the parking brake and remove the pump and all execpt for the actual brake on the driveshaft itself? I know that you'd have to remember to ALLWAYS use the foot pedal whenever you stopped. I had to do that when I drove a Chevy Corvair automatic as none of the corvairs with automatic's had a "park" only R N D L. I always had to put it in neutral and put the brake on.
