I think you’ve already gotten some pretty dubious information and it’s going to be pretty hard for you to separate the wheat from the chaff. Common sense along with very specific questions when you are really in doubt will give you better results; with the emphasis on common sense. Re: Traveling in the southern states “Long time Good Sam member first time here. Some of you people are terrible...” Makes one long for the days when you could just “block” the idiots and be done with them. Re: Coleman Niagara water issue Take the aerators off the faucets then see if they work. Re: Traveling in the southern states Generally no, most campgrounds do not have purpose built tornado shelters. However; most do have facilities that can be used as shelters during potential storms such as camp stores, laundry buildings, bath houses, etc. I’ve lived in tornado regions all of my life. We have never made a campground decision that involved any consideration for tornados. It’s just a non-issue, YOMV. Do you also consider you may be struck by lightning, a plane could fall from the sky, the camper next to you may explode, and thousands more catastrophes that could befall you? Re: trip directions to avoid tunnels How about doing it the old fashion way and getting a road map? Extra added bonus you don’t have to download or print, it’s already done for you. Re: Greywolf 2018 Electric Water Heater wiring Are you aware that if you turn on the electric element with no water in the water heater you will burn out the element? secondly, if you post the brand name and model number someone will be more likely to help you with the electrical diagram. Re: Leaving generator wet or not Sea Foam Clicky Re: Leaving generator wet or not So let's assume a small amount of fuel remains in the bottom of the bowl. The worse that can happen is the bottom of the bowl varnishes a little. What matters is that the jets, ports, needle valves, etc. remain unvarnished/unaffected. That's why you run the fuel out until it dies. America the Beautiful Senior Lifetime Pass For you Old Geezers (like me) that have had a Senior Lifetime Pass for a number of years, your existing pass is now available digitally on your phone. First you have to set up an account (if you don't already have one) at "recreation.gov" where you can then link your existing senior pass to your account. You're going to need the number on your physical card to do this, so if you lost your card and don't know the number you're SOL. Then you download the "recreation.gov app" to you phone and log in. Once you log in the pass will be available in the app for your use in entrance into NPS, Forest Service, BLM, USCOE, etc. facilities (anywhere your physical card is accepted). Note: acceptable ID and your physical presence is still required when you use the pass. You can also download a pdf copy of your pass (which is also accepted for entrance) and/or download the card to your "wallet app". Re: Leaving generator wet or not Fifteen to twenty years seems like a “proven result” to me; why change what seems to be working. I start my generator at least once a month and let it run for about 15 min (generally I put at least some load on it 20% - 75%). In the winter I may start it twice a month or more depending on prevailing temperatures). I generally only keep a minimal amount of gas in it and freshen it often. Every 6 mo. or so I will drain it, put the old into a can with 6 gal of new, then pour a some back into the gen. I have a second gen at the cottage. This one sits all winter without being started. So I run that one dry in the fall when we close up for the winter. Other than that, I do the same thing with that one.
