Have you used the products I’ve mentioned?RV Roof TapeI’ve had my RV since new and just purchased Extreme White RV Roof repair tape for the roof seems. Really tired of the Dicore cracking all the time. The guy at camping world said it was the same as Eternabond and would be a permanent fix. The tape comes with a 15 year warranty too. So it must be good right? My questions are for the people that have used the roof tapes for permanent leak repairs (Eternabond or CoFair Extreme tapes). 1. How well has it held up on your rigs? 2. Was it difficult to apply aside from applying proper pressure and having a clean surface? 3. How happy are you with it? I’ve had my RV parked for a few months and just found a leak that’s only effected a small part of the cabinet at the front cap. My hope is that I can use this stuff as a permanent seal over all the Dicore on the roof. Including vents, skylights, etc. Thanks in advance for your input!Houston Texas to MontanaHi all- So, planning a trip from Houston to Livingston MT this July. We’ll be staying (parking RV) with family, so we’re good there. The furthest North we’ve ever driven the RV is to Durango, CO. Not used to driving in the mountains and not very experienced with that. My question is... what is the best route to take once out of Texas? With the least amount of steep or narrow mountain roads. This is our first trip there and really don’t know what to expect road wise. Pretty used to southern flat roads with a small hill or two. Thanks for any tips!Re: Forest River Lexington tire issueThanks for the information! I’ll check it out.Forest River Lexington tire issueI’ve been having an issue lately and need some help. Mistake 1. Going to Discount Tire. I took my 270GTS to get a tire checked out. The tech for some reason took off the valve stem (original metal stem) and replaced it. The issue was not the valve stem. He said that the original stem was incorrect for a Ford E450 so as a courtesy he changed it. However, now the stem is way too short (outside tire) and I can’t even check the air now, not even with my double headed chuck. No one so far knows what size valve stem it should have. 2. Tried extensions, (recommendation from tire shops) but they all fail within 30 miles (yes metal). So... does anyone know the proper size the metal air valve stem (length) should be? The issue is with the rear exterior tires. We’re planning a trip to Montana in May and really need to get this resolved by then.Re: Lexington 283TS qualityI have the Lexington 270 GTS 2006 and love it. I’m the original owner and have had no significant issues with the motorhome. I haven’t had an issue with slide leaking or anything like that. I think the only issue I did have was a minor adjustment on the pantry slide out rack, but that is it. I did change out the TV to a newer slimmer and lighter TV though. All in all, I’ve found it to be a great RV. As long as you keep up with the maintenance (as with any RV) it should hold up great. Mine still looks like new. Fuel mileage could be improved, but what I get is expecte for a V-10 E-450.Re: Need advice for brand new RVersI've had my Lexington 270GTS since new. I'm the only owner and have to say, it's been the best RV I've had to date. I haven't had any engine issues with the E-450. The slide has never leaked to this day. I did have to replace the awning once because of sun damage, but that is typical of any RV and not expensive. I've had no electrical or plumbing issues. In fact, everyting in the Lexi is still original except for the upgraded LED lights that I installed earlier this year. Oh, and I replaced the TV for a newer model this year as well. I think the only issue that I have really had would be the electric step, but Camping World fixed that quickly and at little cost. We live in Houston and recently had a huge storm, but checked on the Lexi and still no leaks after raining for a week. With any RV no matter age or make, always check the walls for water damage.Re: Blue Beacon Truck Wash QuestionsOk, so I've been trying to wash my B+ myself, but the front cap is a PITA to get to and I can't really reach to give it a good scrub down. Reading about BB and I'm curious, do they also wash my type RV? I called a local place and they want $350 to come out wash/wax, but from reading the prices on some of the responses, I think this might be the better option. We live in the center of Houston, so I'm sure I can find a BB somewhere near.Stainless Sinks?16x20 stainless bathroom sinks... Do they exist? Currently all I see on-line are acrylic colored to look stainless, but no real metal ones. I'd like to start with simple upgrades like this to eventually changing the floor and possibly paint or put in new bathroom wall panels to make my Lexi look more modern and updated. I've never been a big fan of the RV industries choices in fabrics, valences and wall panels. Any suggestions on the sink, etc???Re: Opinions on the Winnebago View/Itasca Navion?I was looking at a B originally, but since I had friends come with me often, I decided on the Lexington B+. The Navion I really like a lot, but wanted just a little more space. So, I've been pretty happy with the room and size of my Lexi. It's gas, but a V-10 so I get about 11-12mpg with it's 55 gal tank. Don't have a towed vehicle, but do take my Vespa GTV300 on occasion. Since I like FR, I think Solera is my next choice if I don't get the Airstream I want first. :-)
