It's a park we routinely go to and there is store just outside the park that sells the usual supplies including refilling of propane tanks. I was disappointed to find out that the owner had gotten rid of his refill service. When I asked him about it he told me that the cost of getting the required licence and the cost of the liability insurance was prohibitive as he simply did not sell enough to justify the cost. This concerns me that it might be an indication of where the industry is going. We have no problem getting our tanks refilled in major centres, but I wonder if finding refill stations is going to get harder and harder. Also I bought a small 10 lb tank for my BBQ. Those are not available at exchange locations. FYIRe: Ohio State Parks/Rv ParksThank you all for your input looks like we will try Geneva State Park.Ohio State Parks/Rv ParksLooking for advice from anyone willing to share any experiences on decent camping spot in Ohio State, we have a wedding on September 6th 2014 in Mentor looking to take a few days to camp out with travel trailer in the area and attend wedding. If anyone can share with us a nice park to camp in we would appreciate some input with others who have experience in the area, as always we appreciate everyone's input.Re: Roo (or other) Sofa/CouchWe have the same issue with the sofa in our 23SS. Very uncomfortable. Not helpful to you (or us) but the sofas in the new Roos are fantastic. They are actually comfortable to sit on and when you pull them out, there is a full size air bed that you inflate for the mattress. It would actually sleep an adult.Re: Canadian Black Fly SeasonWeather has a lot to do with it. If we get a hot spring then it tends to "burn them off". I've been up north in May and June and it varies. Sometimes bad, sometimes not so bad.Re: RV show yesterday almost NO Hybrids CKNSLS wrote: IMHO Hybrids are the worst of both worlds. While you save a little on weight, you get the noise and in the event of bad weather and you need to move on-wet canvas. NO-THANKS! Not to mention poor insulation qualities. No wonder they are on the way out! Oh contriare! Our choice of a ROO 23SS had nothing to with weight but because we love still being able to sleep under canvas while enjoying the luxury of having AC and our own bathroom. We have had ours for 5 years and would never think of changing to a claustrophobic TT. Never had any water issues either and we've camped into October, which in Ontario.. is getting late into the season. To quote Mark Twain "the reports of my death have been greatly exagerated" I don't think the HTT's are on their way out. We were at the show in Toronto and saw lots of hybrides. ROO just launched a new HTT, the 23IKS (two slides, centre island). Very nice. Now if only the Canadian $ would stop its current nose dive we might considering trading up.Re: Roo 23SS plumbing issuesI have a 23' Roo as well. My pump worked fine for the first 3 seasons but at the end of last season the pump started "burping" about every three minutes. Like the OP I search for a leak from one end to another and could not find any sign of water. Last week I replaced the check-valve and was thrilled when the "burping" stopped. We then went camping for a week and on the 5th day it started again. It has to be the check-valve because if there was a leak replacing it would have had no affect. I'm extremely frustrated that the "burping" is back and even though the check-valve is not expensive and a fairly easy repair, I'm not about to do it every week. The next step might be to replace the pump outright.Re: 2 newbie questions - stability and bug controlWe have a 23' Roo hybrid. A good set of wheel chocks (we use roto-choks) and your stabalizers will get rid of most of the movement but you will never eliminate it.Re: Love Letchworth State ParkHeading there next weekend for a week for the first time. Looking forward to it.Re: Towing on the Cabot TrailI certainly was not intending to scare anyone, but just wanted to point out that if you are a nervous driver while towing, the added stress of dealing with steep grades and hairpin turns might not be your thing. I have seen trailers on the freeways going 120 km (75 mph) and 85 km (53 mph). Obviously we all have different skill levels and I was just trying to make that point. If you are comfortable behind the wheel while towing and have driven mountainous terrain than you will do fine on the Cabot Trail. Personally, I'm glad I didn't tow, but that's me.
