The factory installed my fridge about 3" of clearance from the back wall about 1 1/2" around both sides and the top. There was NO baffels nor insulation installed on my 2014 Montana. I had the unit back to the dealer couple of different times. Dealer said "every thing checks out good". So i the made contact with dometic and they told me its a ventalation issue. Thats when i started to investagate a d found that great video.Dometic 1350 cooling problems resolvedI did the modifications of installing baffling, insulation and cooling fan on my Dometic 1350 fridge. I followed the "All Seasons Mobile RV Repair Refridgerator Baffling" video on you tube. Needless to say by following this video and performing the work as mentioned it has made my refridgerator run more effecent. Before the mods my temp would rise up to lower 50's with the low end in the lower 40's. Now I can maintain 34-37 degrees with the setting on 4 while the outside temps reach mid 80's. I'm so thankful for you members that have posted comments to help me deal with my problem. Thanks again ps I would post pics but can't figure that out just yetWiring a refridgerator vent fanI've been fighting the fresh food temperatures in a Dometic 1350 refridgerator which is located in a slide out. My question is where should I hook the wires up to power a 12 volt fan blowing out in the upper exhaust vent? Should I hook it up to run constantly and install a on/off switch or where it will cycle on/off with the previously installed fans? I know where to get the 12 volt power but not 100% sure where to get the 12 volt supply from the existing fans to cycle automatically. Could someone please show me a picture of where I should tie into? Thanks for your quick responses as I have had our 2014 Montana back and fourth to the dealer without any improvements on several occasions.Dometic 1350 temperature problemsI have a Dometic 1350 fridge in my 2014 Montana. The unit has been back to the dealer about cooling problems. The first trip the dealer said that a baffle and insulation was added to correct the problem. Wrong!!! didn't help nor make it worse. Next trip the dealer had the unit 8 business days and said that the thermistor was bad so replaced and wrong again temp still rises to 53 in the day time. My question is has anyone use styrofoam to make the inside area of the fresh food area smaller to help maintain the temps? What I was thinking was making a dummy wall about 9" from the existing left hand wall using the styrofoam and dropping the top of the fresh food area down about 5" to clear the cooling fins to make the 12 cu ft down to a smaller size. Has anyone have any experience in doing this or something similar? Thanks in advance for all your comments in regards to my question.Dometic 1350 temperature problemsThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 27808956Dometic 12 cu. ft fridge operating temperaturesI have a dometic 12 cu ft fridge and am having trouble maintaining the fresh food area temperature. Had unit plugged in at home for 2 days before we left for our trip and the temp was 34 turned unit onto gas operation. Traveled approx 2.5 hrs to out destination and temp raised up to 37 which is still good. My dw switches from gas to electric and turns the temp setting from the #3 position to #2 (lower the number warmer the temp) after doing this just before we went to bed for the night. In the morning the fridge temp raised to 51 so my dw now turns the temp setting to #4 and only dropped the temp to 47. So now dw turns the temp setting to #5 (coldest) and the temp would drop to 44 but overnight without getting into the fridge the temp raises to 51. So I switched from electric operation to gas and it lowered the temp to 44 but the temp still raises overnight to 51. Needless to say we had to throw out lots of food which spoiled from the high temps. What suggestion do you have in order for me to figure out this problem? The fridge is located in a slideout and I could hear a small fan running in the upper outside fridge vent cover. I have a call into the dealer where we purchased the unit from but of course they haven't returned my phone call yet. This is located in a 2014 Montana so still under warranty but we are about 5hrs from the dealership. Thanks in advance for all of your comments6 volt vs 12 voltWhat is better or supply power longer? Two(2) six(6) volt batteries wired in series or two(2) twelve(12) volt batteries wired in series? I am debating which way to go for the longest lasting power as we will be doing alot of primitive camping and I need to run my sleep machine all night. I will have a generator to run in the day to recharge the batteries when needed. Thanks in advance for all of your comments.TPMS best place to purchaseMy wife and I are picking up our new Montana High Country 305RL on April 17th and want to purchase a TPMS. My questions are where is the best place to purchase a complete system from? I also plan on install a sensor on the spare tire. Did you install any sensors on your tow vehicle or not? Thanks in advanced for all of your responses to help me make a final TPMS system purchase. Thanks again! LarryTire monitoring systemI am debating about adding a tpms to my unit and have a couple of quick questions. For those members that use such a system what make and model are you currently using? As far as tire temperature at what temp should you start to worry about tire failure? We are picking up our new 2014 Montana High Country 305 RL within a couple of weeks and was woundering if I should have the tpms installed. Thanks in advance for all your responses.PDI checklistI remember seeing somewhere a PDI checklist and can't seem to be able to locate one. My dw and me are doing our PDI tomorrow on our new 2014 Montana 305 RL and need some help with the PDI checklist. So if anyone can assist me with locating said checklist would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your time and suggestions.
