The most useful thing that I learned is that there is an official investigation. For the OP: If I was you I would google “NHTSA grand design frame flex investigation”. This seems the most reliable information. You may also want to contact them for your own I&I. Re: Grand Design frame flexing. Follow up question - what are “normal tolerances” and who decided what value they should be? And how do you measure frame flex as your driving down the road to know that your rig has exceeded “normal tolerances”? Asking for a friend. Not to be argumentative, but you say it’s a “known issue”, but when I do a search on this forum the only thing that pops up is this thread, a thread about a tow vehicle, and everything else is more than 10 years old. Not at all supportive of a “known issue” claim. I have had some experience with structural issues and frame issues simultaneously. But connecting the dots and assigning and affixing blame may not be as straightforward as you allude it to be. Just my own experience. As an example, I would point out that you can bend a frame (or flex it inappropriately) by jacking up the trailer to change a tire at the wrong place. Re: Grand Design frame flexing. Am I missing something? It seems to me you would want your frame to flex to some extent. After all, it’s like a miniature earthquake every mile going down the road. Re: A fried converter, has anyone had this covered by insurance? The other side of the coin is, he did not provide us with anything regarding how he knows the electrical source was faulty. That “proofs” could lay the blame on “the electrical source”, while lack of such proof leads to no one to blame. The way I read it, number (b)3 is pretty clear - that coverage is excluded. I’d also note, he never said he was at a campground, he may be his own “faulty source”. Wouldn’t be the first time a do-it-yourselfer wired an RV plug wrong. Re: 2006 R vision trail cruiser 30ft Original comment Deleted - Instead of making a new thread, you should have just replied with your revised length on the original thread. Re: water pump runs but no water So turn the winterizing valve and run the pump, the pink stuff ain’t going to hurt anything (including you). In any event, for the most part the pink stuff should pretty much run out the end of the bypass hose, you can then you can refill it with fresh water, stick the end in a bucket of water, should be good to go then. Re: Mercedes 3500 sprinter towing electrical connections I don’t know specifically about Mercedes (and not knowing which pin(s) you are testing), two things come to mind. With some companies there is a relay so it only gets power when the vehicle is running, and some companies don’t install the fuse in the fuse block, so you have to install the fuse to power it up. You may want to check those two possibilities. Re: HF Predator 3500 Generator - New Manual / Oil Intervals Your replying to a topic that was posted 7 years ago, several of those years had record high inflation, of course that shipped sailed. Re: First time Load the camper up with everything you think you need to go camping for a week. Then go camping in the driveway. Don’t cheat, don’t go in the house. Once a day go in the house for a max of 5 minutes to get the things you found out you needed but didn’t bring. By the end of the week you should have about 95% of what you need to hit the road so it’s time to go (the other 5% you can pick up as you go). Re: State ParksI hope you never have some one die while you're camping. It sure would suck to be you if you lost all your camping fees because of an unfortunate circumstance like your grandmother dying or an accident (not your fault) that totals your truck and trailer. Fortunately, when my brother in law died, more reasonable people were in charge, I only lost one day's fee instead of a whole week's fees, plus a ownerous cancellation fee to boot. Stuff beyond our control happens.
