The XL is on a heavier duty chassis... not sure of the GVW but i think it is around 30000 lbs. The floor plans are the same but the roof height is higher.Re: Dynamax Dynaquest 260STI have a 2006 Dynaquest 320 SL and we are happy with it. Although we have only owned it for 3 months so we are still just getting to know it.Re: Winnebago view 24J bedThanks Dakzuki. I joined a couple weeks ago but had trouble navigating the yahoo group site on my iPad. I will try again.Winnebago view 24J bedI just purchased a "new to me " 08' View. The RV came with the over cab mattress missing. I have a few ideas on how to replace it with a board, gas struts, and an air mattress. Also, I thought it might me common for folks to remove it like the previous owner of this one did for the extra storage space. That would mean that that there would be a lot of the mattress's and hardware taking up space in people basement or garages. They might even be happy to get rid of their "extra parts" . Any suggestions on a fold up mattress design, or any offers of selling me your extra parts at a reasonable rate would greatly appreciated.Re: Directv ???The Genie has the hard drive in it. The mini won't record. Not to hijack your thread but....I have the same set up at home and was wondering if I take one of my mini's with me will it work without the main box?Re: Reflections on 6 Months of RV Research! ;)Good luck and most importantly have fun on your search. Our camping experiences goes like this....tent camping with three kids and dog....Lots of work but lots of fun and was all we could afford. Moved up to a Casita 17 foot TT...lots of fun easy to tow but cramped. We camp so we can enjoy the out doors. In my opinion small camper camping is one of the best was to go. We then moved up to a 31 foot Keystone springdale. Nice camper reasonably priced and functioned well. Not as easy to tow. Had to plan stops and meals but was reasonably easy to "wing it" getting off the interstate at a random exit to eat or fuel up. The springdale died of an elusive roof leak which I finally found after it was too late. We then purchased a Voltage toy hauler 5th wheel. Camping it it was more like what my friends called "GLAMPING" all of the comforts of home as well as all of the space. Lots of fun with that camper and the convenience of being able to stop at truck stops turn the generator on and sleep while on our way to locations more than a day's drive away. The down side is having to only fuel at truck stops because the rig is too big to "just stop anywhere". We have just sold the 5th wheel and have purchased a 2008 Winnebage view 24j. Just brought it mome yesterday and have yet to camp in it. I can't wait to try our hand at class C camping. I think that with our experiences the best advice I can give you is ENJOY THE RIDE. Whatever you decide to do just plan on having fun...even if the camper, motor home, or tent you are in doesn't meet your expectations.Re: Bigger motors on slideouts for voltages? The originals in my 2011 work perfectly once I learned to lubricate properly. joebedford - could you tell us about your lubrication procedure? I'd like to lube mine as a preventative measure. Silicone spray on the rollers and white grease spray on the tracks. Made a night and day difference. Doesn't the white grease spray on the tracks make a mess with dust on the sides of the slides and on the rubber seals? I guess it would take the metal grinding sounds away. I take it you mean the grooved rails on the sides of the slides that the gears mesh into? No, no mess & grinding noise gone. I sprayed the grease liberally in the gear tracks and groove. Then I cleaned the overspray off the side of the slide. The grease doesn't touch the seals and it doesn't really attract dust (and it was really dusty in RGV last winter). I bought some and will give it a try. Thanks. Good info thanksRe: 2013/2014 Voltage owners: has quality improved?I have a 2013 Voltage 3200. Ordered it in February and picked it up in April. I am very happy with the camper. The issues I have had were minor and I was able to repair them myself. We ordered an Epic 2 model fully loaded. I have learned a lot from posts on this forum and others, which helped me to spot problems before they became problems. If anyone would like the list of minor issues I will be happy to post them. Otherwise it will seem like I am whining.
