All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsMobile mechanic/ WorkhorseI had a check engine light issue when I arrived at my present cg. I did not notice the light until I tried to start up after registration and it went in limp mode. I waited a short while and started up and it did start and was drive able but light was still on. I did do some reading and I tried some easy possible solutions, recharged KN air filter, added more gas with sea foam. I restarted motor and ran it for about 15 minutes and light is not on anymore. I am not sure if I got lucky and made the fix or if it is going to happen on the road. I am going to continue running it while I am at campground with my fingers crossed. I am aware of a great repair shop in Kissimmee that I have used a couple of times but due to health reasons I would prefer someone come to my location if the light does come on again. I am checking on line but almost every mobile RV repair person is mainly RV repair only, not engine type repairs. I am presently at the Thousand Trails CG and was looking for a recomendation in case I do need to call someone, thanks, Don.Re: No fuel to Generator.I have had a similar problem and it was due to a crack in the old rubber gas line. Mine was at the top of the tank where it was not accessible. I would suggest taking the line that is available to you and put it into a gas can to see if it starts. If it does than you can be pretty certain the problem is a crack in the line up by the tank. I ended up taking it to a repair shop and had it replaced. Good luck. P.S. I had a full tank when I took mine for repair and they put it on a lift and did not lower the tank but blocked up the tank and raised the MH away from the tank enough to gain access to the hose. I suppose if you don't have access to a lift, which a majority of us do not, it could be raised with the jacks and than securely placing blocks under MH. I was glad I had dealer take care of it, was done in 90 minutes and the cost was reasonable.Re: Workhorse Wheelmaster lug nutsYou are correct, you will need two different size sockets. I don't remember the sizes off hand but the one size will remove the two with the nipples on to remove your wheel cover and than the other to remove your actual lugnuts. I purchased mine at camping world a bunch of years ago. I only replaced the two because I am assuming the previous owner must have damaged or battered them trying to remove them possibly with the wrong size socket. These don't have to be nearly as tight as the wheel lugs which are torqued at about 450 ft lbs. I removed the small locking nut from the damaged chrome caps and carefully tapped the smaller nuts into the new chrome caps. Good luck, DonRe: Sebring of Frostproof CG RecommendationLakemont Ridge and Rainbow Resort, both in Frostproof and both nice parks. I would call first, sites are getting scarce but did see some empty, hopefully they are available. Good luck.selling on consignmentDue to health issues we might have to give up the lifestyle we have both enjoyed for many years. If it comes time to sell I don't really want to go through the hassle of trying to sell on my own, even though I realize I will most likely lose money. I will eventually call or visit dealers to see and compare their terms and fees. I am wondering, before I get to that stage of the game, if I can get some suggestions or do's and dont's of the procedure so I can proceed with some knowledge. Thank you, Don. P.S. I should have mentioned in my original post that I will be looking, when it is time, for a dealer in eastern Pa, close to my stick house. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions, I am learning.Re: Adventures in By-passing Closed I95 in SCI also had the misfortune of taking the detour last week, and I must say it was the worst road I have ever traveled. In addition to the traffic, the condition of the road was terrible. I felt like I was driving on speed bumps with an occasional pot hole to add some variety to the trip. I pulled over after hitting one of the pot holes and discovered my glass sliding doors were off the tracks, fortunately they stayed connected on top. Some of my cupboard doors opened up and things scattered all over the floor. My factory installed microwave unhooked from its lower brackets and last but not least it took a chunk out of my rear dual tire sidewall. I am glad 95 has reopened so others do not have to drive the obstacle course.Re: furance running on the roadI would say yes also if everything is working properly, BUT make sure it is shut off when gassing up.Re: campgrounds near gatlinburgwww.riversidecamp.com in Seiverville.is one suggestion. We just returned from a 5 day stay and would recommend this park as one to check out. We did the Smokey Mtn. tour plus Pigeon Forge and this Cg. was a convenient location. You will have a large selection, many in the area. Good luck.Re: Slideout TopperWhen mine started to fray I used duct tape along the edges applied to top and bottom. This is certaintly not a permanent fix but it worked for a camping season for me. I eventually replaced them as posted in prior posts but it did slow down the fraying. I was able to match the colors without a problem and was barely noticeable. Good luck. Don.Re: Toilet squeak....My instructions from customer service, tighten metal clamp to 50 inch lbs making certain the plastic C clamp is seated correctly with the gap located in the back. You could also pour some olive oil in the bowl, that will give some lubrication. Good luck, Don.
