Mobile mechanic/ Workhorse

Question

I had a check engine light issue when I arrived at my present cg.  I did not notice the light until I tried to start up after registration and it went in limp mode. I waited a short while and started up and it did start and was drive able but light was still on. I did do some reading and I tried some easy possible solutions, recharged KN air filter, added more gas with sea foam.   I restarted motor and ran it for about 15 minutes and light is not on anymore.  I am not sure if I got lucky and made the fix or if it is going to happen on the road.  I am going to continue running it while I am at campground with my fingers crossed.  I am aware of a great repair shop in Kissimmee that I have used a couple of times but due to health reasons I would prefer someone come to my location if the light does come on again.  I am checking on line but almost every mobile RV repair person is mainly RV repair only, not engine type repairs.  I am presently at the Thousand Trails CG and was looking for a recomendation in case I do need to call someone, thanks, Don.

If you can get it to most auto parts stores, like NAPA, Autozone, Pep Boys, etc they will come out and check your OBDII for any engine codes that may have caused your check engine light to come on. If the light is off now, it may just be a one time event and it has cleared itself and everything is back to normal.
I have almost 90,000 miles on the same engine and I would guess mine has gone in to limp mode maybe six times. In each case it corrected itself and everything quickly got back to normal. If all of the gauges are reading normal, and the engine is running fine now, you probably don't have anything to worry about. If you have a nearby auto parts store, drive over and let them check your OBDII codes.

I carry a OBD-II scanner that connects to my cell phone, it's about 30 bucks.  I agree, it's probably nothing immediately major.

I would take it into an auto parts store and have them read the codes. they give you a computer print out  of the codes and tell you what they mean. You can post them on here and someone with your chassis is probably familiar with them and can explain what happened. Also if it is a recurring code the computer is trying to tell you something.

I did not tighten my fuel cap and that trip the light on the engine. It cleared after a few miles.
