I have a problem with a business that hides their charges and fees. Email? Best results is 2-3 days the email goes to a corporate drop box. I had questions on a Sun Park in Florida and the agent was in Michigan. We only stay at Parks owned by independent owners. We who stay at parks have become more or less a commodity to these Corporate Parks and not customers. Sun is not the only Corporate Conglomerate out there. This is strictly our personal opinion. Home on Wheels wrote: Hello! Kerrville is a "little" west of San Antonio, but you want a very nice park, stay at Buckhorn RV Park in Kerrville. http://www.buckhornlake.com/ Very nice and clean. I would not recommend staying in the Sun Communities RV Resort as some have said on this site. They have really let the Tree Tops Rv park in Arlington go down hill. Oh, they've got the "front office" area looking really nice, but the rest of it is in bad shape. We've heard the same thing about the Sun Community park in San Antonio. We've stayed at Oak Wood RV Park in Fredricksburg, it's an older park, but it's clean. We've also stayed at Fredericksburg RV Park in Fredericksburg. http://fbgrvpark.com/ These sites are really close together, you actually step out of your rig and onto the neighbors' sewer connections. We will not stay there again. RV Recarpeting - Apache Junction, AZMy wife and I are in Apache Junction. I have made a couple of phone calls and sent a few emails requesting information on "On site" RV recarpeting and new laminate installation. 1 Company has responded and they do not do it on site. Has anyone used a company for onsite service? R, M&VEL PASO, TX - SUPERIOR SERVICE INFORMATIONFuel line from Injector Pump to Injector broke in half. Stopped in Fort Hancock TX. Contacted Good Sam Roadside Assistance. KAMEL Towing, El Paso Texas. Sent two trucks, one to haul my 5th wheel and one to haul my truck. Took my truck to their yard (no storage fee) Delivered 5th wheel to Mission RV Park in El Paso. Manager(s) at park went out of their way to help us get a space and assist us during this break down period. C & H Diesel – CARLOS (915.329.2752) Took my truck in with no appointment, worked all day. Checked all fluids, fixed broken fuel line with new parts. Took my truck to car wash and cleaned diesel from undercarriage. Drove my truck 10 miles to the RV Park at 7PM picked me up and I returned him to his business. "CARLOS" Former Dodge Diesel Mechanic. Superior Service. If you get stranded in the area I would recommend these people. The Truck repair was my own cost, but $277 Dollars for all the work he did was more than fair. Just want to pass this along to fellow RVers. There are people out there you can trust and feel comfortable with.Good Sam Roadside Assistance - THE BESTMy wife and I have had a couple of weeks of problems, 1st blew a intercooler Clamp on our Dodge Cummins. Roadside Assistance found a Mobile Mechanic had him on site in an hour (ON SUNDAY) (FIRST GEAR FLEET SERVICE, BRIGHTON MICHIGAN). Excellent Service by the Company. Coming out of Big Springs Texas, did not realize it at the time but fuel line from Injector pump to Injector broke in half. Limped to Fort Hancock, TX. We pulled in to the back lot of a gas station, we could not leave the 5th wheel there so... Roadside Assistance found a Company that towed the 5th wheel and our truck (separately) to El Paso. Towed the 5th wheel to the RV Park and our truck to their lot (with no storage fee). KAMEL Towing out of EL PASO, TX. Excellent Company and Service. Going to have the truck fixed today. We want to express our deep thanks and gratitude to Good Sam, their phone representatives and the companies they chose. I have read some negative comments in this Forum. Working with the phone reps and the companies goes along ways. If I ever do have a bad experience, I will remember the excellent service I have received. Thank you again Good Sam Roadside Assistance. This experience has been disheartening at times but between Good Sam and my Wife..... Life is Good.Re: Dealer quoted $700 to run wire for backup cam, Need Advise omextreme wrote: So feeling lazy I asked the Dealer to quote me a price to run a wire from kingpin to rear wall for my backup camera. The job looks difficult but not awful from my vantage point. They came back @ $771 for 6 hrs labor for them to run my wire, This is just to run the wire, not install camera or screen in truck. Am i crazy to think this is ridiculously high or is this that difficult of a job? The unit is a 2015 Montana HC @ 40' Thanks They have a backup cam at AUTOZONE for $129, wireless that will work. I am going to buy one to mount it at my entrance door and put the monitor inside to observe unwanted visitors. The camera has night vision also.Re: 4 not connected black wires at power converter Jonny637 wrote: Yes, that's the one. Mine even looks a little rougher. Instead of upgrading, what do you think of buying complete power center/charger/converter? Looks to be same price as upgrade. I just upgraded my whole converter to a BPC4-60 Boondocker.... Patience. You need to buy some Female Flag Disconnect Terminals. This is needed for the 12V wires to fit in the small channel above the fuse board. Hint... If you 12V White commons are on a separate bar, you need to run a heavy gauge wire to the back of the Converter Unit. The wire will be the same size and gauge as your the Wire from the Negative terminal on the battery. I found on my original Converter the factory had 14 gauge wire going to a 20 amp breaker instead of 12 gauge. Glad to walk you through it. I think I paid $215 at best converter. I think Camping world will install it for a price. If you want to talk give me a shout. R, M & V I put in a new tankless W/H also.Re: Inverter upgradeThank you for your informative posts. I emailed Randy at "BestConverter". He recommended the Boondocker 60. As mentioned above I will check the Gauge Wire from the Battery to the converter. I would think 6 gauge would be correct. I sent an email back to Randy to see if my 7300 series breakers will fit in the Boondocker. He mentioned that the Boondocker is a prefect fit for the existing opening and there are 12 fuse slots. It was a little pricy at $215. Again, thank all of you for the information. I mentioned the different models that you brought to my attention to Randy. V/R, MikeInverter upgradeI currently have a Magnetek-Parallax Inverter (MOD 7345, 7300 Series) in our 5th wheel and want to upgrade. I have done extensive research on line and have found references to Progressive Dynamics PD4645, and the Parallax 8345. The upgrades I mentioned only show 9 slots for fuses on the fuse board. My 7345 has 11 slots of which 10 are used. (slot 7 is unused). http://www.bestconverter.com/8345-45-Amp-Power-Center_p_69.html#.VUUAWZOYSi8 I can find no information that tells me what modifications I need to make to go from a 11 slot fuse board to a 9 slot. Both the 4645 and 8345 are 9 slot. Emailed Best Converters with the question, she just recommended the 4645 of the two but never answered the question concerning the slot configurations of the two fuse boards. Now that I have you confused, any suggestions? R, Mike 2000 SKYLINE Triple Slide 35' 5th Wheel.
