I wonder if that is what makes our politicans so full of gas. If I had a ham bone, that's what I would do with it.Re: What do you cooked in your Instant Pot or Pressure CookerI was given an instant pot for Christmas last year. Since then, I have cooked about everything in it. It is especially good for soups, stews, rice, meats like chicken etc. It don't think that there is much that you can't cook in it. As a full time rv'er and a widower to boot, I had to learn to cook or starve (I learned to cook). To me it has been a wonderful invention. It has replaced a number of other kitchen gadgets that I used to haul around like a slow cooker, a rice steamer, and stove top pressure cooker. For a man that was born without a cooking gene, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of recipes for the instant pot on the internet. So, between the instant pot and my pellet grill, I am living large. BobRe: cost of replacing rubber roof on 35 foot fiver? My rubber roof did the same thing. The glue failed they said due to the Florida heat. Had the flex armor roof applied and could not be happier. It is tough as nails, one piece (no more seams to caulk), whiter than white, and has a life time guarantee. More over, the cost was about the same as a new rubber roof. In my opinion, the Dow Chemicals poly urea coating, is a big improvement over the rubber roof. The down side is the fact that they have a very limited number of installing dealers, so you may have to travel a ways to get it done. It can only be applied indoors and may take up to 3 days to complete so add the cost of a motel to the price. If you decide to go that way you won't be disappointed in your forever roof. BobHats off to Alabama State ParksWe were running from the central Florida area .in advance of Hurricane Irma, and every where we went it seemed to follow us. We finally ended up in western Alabama at Lake Loreen State Park after being unable to find a spot anywhere else. My hat is off to them for welcoming us with open arms in spite of the fact that this park fills up with rv'ers coming for University of Alabama football games. They gave us a premium site for a week free, and this is a beautiful park. While here, our rv batteries died and needed to be replaced before we could retract our landing gear and slides. Dixie Battery understood our predicament and sold us 4 new Trojans at cost. I never been in a place with nicer, friendly, and more helpful people. Thank You Alabama Big Bob A Florida residentDometic RM 1350 refrigerator door sealsI needed to replace the door seals on my Dometic Rm 1350 refrigerator. I found a part number from a Dometic parts manual. I tried to order them from PPL and was told that you couldn't replace them, you had to buy new doors. Being that it was a 4 door refrigerator, it was going to cost as much a a new domestic refrigerator. That just didn't seem right to me. So I kept looking. I was able to order gaskets from Dyers RV and got them in just 2 days. So now I had the gaskets but didn't have a clue on how to change them. I found instruction s in a Dometic instruction pamphlet. It said to remove refrigerator doors, cut the gaskets loose wthh a box cutter, remove any stuck on glue, install the new gaskets using double faced tape, let the glue cure for days, etc. Sounded like a big project to me. Well it turns out the door gaskets are only pressed into a groove on the doors. Pull the old gaskets off and press on the new ones. No need to remove any doors or wait for days for glue to cure. The repair is a piece of cake. To make your gaskets last longer, spear a thin coat of Vaseline on them. It keeps them from sticking and tearing the gasketsDometic RM 1350 refrigerator door sealsThis topic has been moved to another forum. What to do... Since we are full timers we were in a real pickle. I looked on the internet and found a company called Elite RV that installed flex armor lifetime roofs near us. They couldn't get us in for about 2 weeks for a new roof, but said to come in and they would try to make us water tight until then. Well what ever they did worked because it rained 12" in 24 hours and never leaked a drop. We have since had a new polyurea roof sprayed on and it's beautiful and tough as nails, has a lifetime warranty and the best part is I never have to get on the roof to caulk again. The cost was about the same as a rubber roof. I wonder why manufactures aren't using this process as it is superior to rubber. If you are ever in need of a new roof, as I was, I highly recommend it. Just be aware there is another product out there called rv armor. It is a different product altogether. It is rolled on rather than sprayed, and is a much thinner covering. The flex armor is nearly 1/4 " thick. The rv armor may be a fine product, I don't know, not having any experience with it, but I can tell you I am impressed with the flex armor. You can read it here: 29061375HURRICANE INFO FOR THOSE IN FLORIDAEvacuations are currently underway from most of the East coast of Florida. No reports of gasoline shortages have been reported as yet, although grocery shelves are reported bare. It was reported that the state parks will be closed, although that has not been verified. The Ocala Natal Forest campground at Salt Springs has ordered everyone to be out by Thursday. 12:00 pm and will not reopen until next Tues. Orlando, the home of Mickey Mouse is now under a Hurricane Watch. If you are one of the evacuees, there are still spaces available in some of the larger private campgrounds on the West Coast, but they are filling up fast. We are at the Sun And Fun in Sarasota and they still have space available. If you elect to stay in place and ride this one out, then take it from an old Flordian, be prepared to give your butt to the Lord. BigBobRe: How do I replace these with LED lightsWord of warning. IF you replace that G4 bulb with a high quality led bulb, you can forget about watching TV on your bat wing antenna when that light is on. I replaced mine only to discover that the more expensive leds contain a voltage regulator that emits an rf signal that will blank your tv signal. Google leds and tv reception for more info. Then buy the very cheapest leds you can find. This apparently doesn't happen with every brand, but you won't know until you try.
