All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsAllied InsuranceLast Friday a jeep thought he could pull out 30 yards in front of me to make a left hand turn. I T-BONED his jeep, totaling it and destroying the front end of my coach. I called my insurance company, Allied, and they have done an outstanding job so far in taking care of everything. They towed my coach to a "preferred" repair center, and are handling the paperwork. Apalachee RV Center is working on getting an estimate of cost and repair time. I am very apprehensive about how long repairs will take and what will happen to my insurance rates even though the accident was not my fault. I will keep you all informed of any updatesRe: carrying spare propane (20#) while travelingI carry a tank in my RV since I do not have a toad. Had no problems. Just make sure the valve is shut and put it in a vented bay.Re: 30/30 pigtailI just left Fort Yargo state park in Georgia. My pedestal only had two (separate breakers)30 amp sockets (no 50 amp socket) and two 15 amp sockets. I had the "Y" you are talking about and used the two 30 amp sockets. I ran everything in my RV as I would if connected to a 50 amp ckt. Everything worked fine. You can only use 1 30 amp ckt if your pedestal is used by 2 different campsites as one is for you to use and the other is for the other campsite.Re: Some fun We did this about 10 years ago on this forumKey West in SeptemberR V Driving SchoolHas anyone tried R V Driving School in Atlanta, Ga? My wife is a little timid about driving our class A motor home and we would like for her to gain a little confidence. 35 ft Newmar ScottsdaleRe: good sam rv/auto ins.The price is good, 1/2 of what GEICO wanted. The only bad part, or so I've heard, it the price jump the second year (I don't personally know since I'm on my first year still).Re: What your opinion of buying a MV from camping World?I spent a lot of time doing research before I went. Salesman had little idea what an RV was or what features mine had. Bought from CW because it was the unit I wanted at a price I was willing to pay. Mine was a used Newmar Scottsdale 2006. Had a lot of trouble getting things taken care of we agreed to before the sale. Took about a month. Service after the sale was quality work, but the service writers really messed everything up and took lots of phone calls and down time to get work done. 1. Do your homework 2. Get EVERYTHING in writing 3. Check everything works before the saleRe: PUP Awning worth the darn?We use ours all the time. I MUST put it up before raising the roof and cannot take it down until after the roof is lowered. The very first time I set it up a gust of wind threw it on the roof and one of the poles put a hole in the roof ($50 to get the hole fixed). Now I ancher it down as soon as I put it up.
