Yes I did the engine cover in the back , around steering wheel and entry step area. Used Armstrong Alterna "Mesa" in living and bath area which was grouted with 1/16" spacers and Manington Cherry plank in the bed room. All adhered to new ply wood sub-floor. Been in there 6 years without an issue. DW loves just a swifter and all done. Did put down some throw rugs in colder weather. Good luck with your project and it can be tedious work but worth it. Blessings;Keith We are using a peel and stick tile from Home depot. We hope it will be okay but I do think that the glue down type are probably better. That being said, would you advise us to try to use them on the engine compartment? Would love to see photos of yours if you have them to share. What did you use on corners? How did you deal with the slides? Would really appreciate your input. Thanks Keith.Re: New flooring Question erniee wrote: I always add new carpet in those areas Erniee, not sure we have the skill to do the carpet on the small vertical places, such as in the stair well. Do you think a flooring store would work on something like that?Re: New flooring Question Bill.Satellite wrote: I would replace that carpet with new carpet. There must be some good non-allergenic carpet available and due to the minimum amount required you should be able to find a remnant that would work for very little money. Call me picky but if we replace that part with carpeting I would want to replace all the little areas that we planned to leave carpet, such as, any little vertical portions where the carpet did not get any wear and are not dirty. It would look odd to have different carpet on that one part. Also, since I have allergies I really would like to have that carpet (on the horizontal portion at least) gone.Re: New flooring QuestionIf you figure anything out, please let us know. Best of luck with your project. Husband is nearing finished putting luaun underlayment over the plywood subfloor.New flooring QuestionWe are currently replacing the carpet and ceramic tile in our 2005 Holiday Rambler Scepter with vinyl tile. The question is, has anyone replaced the flooring over the Diesel engine bump located in the rear? It gets pretty warm so it might not work to use the vinyl but I have pretty severe allergies and would really like to replace the old, dirty carpet with something easier to clean. Any suggestions?Re: No 12 Volt Power! stew47 wrote: when all is quiet in the coach can you hear the converter humming? yesRe: No 12 Volt Power! Corkey05 wrote: Just inside the entry door is a 12v switch commonly called the "Salesman's Switch". Its easy to bump and will switch off all 12v power to the coach except for 12v to the control boards of the refrigerator and AC's. See if you can restore power by resetting the switch. Is that the battery disconnect switch? If so, it was broken and I removed and tried to fix it and am not positive that I have it wired correctly. I recently had surgery and the brain is not working on all cylinders yet. Should have taken a before photo and didn't (wrote down some instructions which, of course, don't make any sense after the fact), regretting that now. Where is the "Salesman's Switch" located. The one I worked on is on the dash right by the front door, called "battery cut off switch". Thinking that this may be the problem but need help reconnecting the wires to proper terminals. Thanks so much!Re: No 12 Volt Power! stew47 wrote: when all is quiet in the coach can you hear the converter humming? YesNo 12 Volt Power! We are new owners of a 2005 Holiday Rambler Scepter 40ft and we are hooked to shore power but we have no 12 v internally. Have 110 on all outlets, thinking the converter does not have power but cannot locate the converter to check. Have checked GFI's in bathroom and that is okay. Is there another GFI that we need to locate somewhere. Have searched the manual for clues and solutions with no luck. Anyone have any ideas for this? Thanks for your help in advance!Campground and OHVing Suggestions-Black HillsHi, we are planning a trip for camping, trail riding and relaxing with our CanAm either next week, May 12-20th or May 29-June 7 and we were planning to stay in the Hill City, Keystone or Custer areas (we went to the northern area last year). Now we've been hearing that there are not many trails in the southern part so we're open to other places, like Deadwood. Looking for some advice on camping and some nice trails. Here's what we like: Camping (29' 5th wheel) we don't want or need all the entertainment stuff, just a quiet, wooded spot with hookups, a view would be frosting on the cake. We like to have our morning coffee outside enjoying the beautiful Black Hills. None if those flat, wide open campgrounds please. We aren't into tearing around on trails either. We are looking for interesting, historic, out of the ordinary things to find along the way. Old buildings, nature and lovely views. Will trails be open before May 15th? Really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks to any and all who reply.
