In the BEST case, the tires were outdated in 2013, but really 2010/11. Which means, this is a NON story. It died(pun) when the last operational tire should have been gone by 2011 at the latest. There should be NONE of these tires anywhere on the road and NONE at a Goodyear Retailer. Doug My purpose of posting this was I had never heard about it and I thought others might be interested in reading. Plus info for others that may not have heard about it and may be considering replacing their tires with Goodyears, they have this history so may want to steer clear of them.Goodyear Tire Deaths for RVsJust thought I would post this story on the Goodyear Tires... https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2018/04/05/goodyear-motorhome-tires-may-have-caused-95-deaths-injuries-government-report-claims/488815002/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2018/04/05/goodyear-motorhome-tires-may-have-caused-95-deaths-injuries-government-report-claims/488815002/Re: Did a lot of work on my class C this weekend!Nice! Glad to see it gets a work out. What do you shoot, what is the competition? I just joined a shooting club up here, no real plans to do any competitions as I just don't have the time it takes to improve but I do enjoy trying to better my groupings. Sort of like golf, you have to put in the rounds if you want to get better, maybe one day if I ever decide to retire ;)Re: Did a lot of work on my class C this weekend!Hate to tell you but you still have 2 more jobs to do. 1. Pick your next destination. 2. Plan the route Now get to work!Re: Forest River FR3I was at an RV show a couple of weeks ago as the FR3 was one of the ones I wanted to look at, in fact it was number 6 on my wish list. After the show it was bumped up to number 4, I was very impressed I have to say. There was a factory rep there that went through all off my detailed questions and not only did he have all the answers he was able to inform me of some of the things I didn't know. The floor plan I like is the 30' one, just my preference because the TV is located across from the couch, not on an angle like most of them. I also really liked the wide doorway to get in, I think he said it was 30" and most RV's are 24". We also talked about some of the issues they have had in the past (i.e. leaking windshield, poor roof quality etc.) and what they have done to fix them. I was very impressed at how they not only acknowledged the past problems but have done something to fix them. Looks like it will be a good unit going forward...Re: F450 Drivers Seat MDKMDK wrote: Am looking forward to the Sprinter seats in our new rig. Everything I've read about them seems to conclude that they were well designed for all day use. I hope so, because we like to cover plenty of ground to get there, wherever there may be. Thanks, please send me a write up once you put a couple of miles on them, I would be very interested in hearing your review.Re: Class C ratings/reivews 31-33'I would be very cautious on the Thor products (Thor and Jayco), of the units I have looked at the build quality was pretty awful. I am sure there are good ones out there but I have not come across them, cubbords not lined up, cracks in the bathroom and shower, rubber stripping coming off the outside doors, floors pealing back and all of this on brand new units. Plus there have been a number of youtube videos on how they are made and they turned me off of their products. Just curious why you did not put a couple of the Minnie Winnies on your list? Seem to have good build quality as well as good floor plans. Best of luck with your hunt...Re: F450 Drivers SeatThanks for the pointers, a very good point to check to see what it is like with the slide it, will put that on my check list. Don't really want a new seat but will have to see, if it is not good maybe get it boosted up or something, extra padding maybe.Re: F450 Drivers Seat Mich F wrote: I assume you mean E 450, not F 450 ? I think you'll find in many cases the front seats aren't installed by Ford, but are installed by the RV builder. So you can't try one brand of MH and think all E 450s will have the same seat. Haha, yeah I did mean E 450. I guess that is why nothing came up. Interesting, I thought that they all would have been installed from the factory, thanks for that info.F450 Drivers SeatI thought that this would have been posted before but could not see a link, how is the drivers seat comfort for long drives in the F450 chassis? I used to be able to drive for hours on end but last year I had a fracture in my spine and now I get uncomfortable after an hour or so. I believe it is partially to do with the position of the cars seat as I don't have that problem on my motorcycle as that is a more upright position. Right now I am leaning towards either a Minnie Winnie or a Leprechaun in the 30' range but have not ruled out a couple of Class A's either. I should be able to sit in a couple of them later this week but that doesn't give a great estimate of what it is like on long drives. Thanks...
