I had to make custom rings from a pen cap to insert and then slide onto the well wd40'd connectors with fine needle nose pliers. Took a while but I got them off and new one installed. The new one will be much easier as it has long input and output for using the proper tool. Thanks for the tips!Re: F53 Fuel filter removal tool won't fit?I borrowed a huge kit from Canadian Tire and tried several styles, including those you posted and the metal plyer style ones. None came close. I was able to share a picture in a Facebook f53 group and the consensus is that it currently has the wrong filter installed and will likely need to be hack sawed off then removed with needle nose pliers and the disconnect tool.F53 Fuel filter removal tool won't fit?I am attempting to change the fuel filter on my 1999 f53 v10 southwind storm. I got the removal tool, but there is nowhere near enough gap between the body of the fuel filter and the connected fuel line, for me to insert the tool onto the male portion of the fuel filter. There are also no retaining clips on the current filter/lines. The new filter seems to have much longer protruding metal (male) gas lines that should leave plenty of space for using the tool on future replacements. Has anyone else run into this problem? I took a couple pictures but not sure how to upload them? Any advice appreciated Thanks Adam
