My brother stopped out there and said my fifth wheel was making a whistling sound from the inside. He traced it to the power panel which was left on. He turned it off and it quit making the noise. What could this be I wonder? Its about a hour from me so I won't get out there for a while. Just wondering what you think this could be? I do have it plugged in to my parents power. Seems really weird that the power panel would be making this noise, is this some kind of warning alarm? Thats what it sounded like on the phone.Re: pulling a toadYou have a pickup, why would you want another vehicle? Out of curiosity... Just doesn't add up.Re: 2007 Jay Flight 30.5 RLSI have this same unit. I put a Optima Blue top battery in mine and love it.Re: 2014 Jayco 2014 Eagle 34.5bhtsI have a Jayco and love it. When I was looking at fifth wheels in the 30-40k range I felt like Jayco had the best construction.Re: Snow StormAnother update, all shoveled out! 5 hours of shoveling! Re: Snow StormWe do have a sat dish but we can climb up that drift and clean it off on the roof lol Here is an update: Snow StormThis isn't exactly about fifth wheels but im familiar with some of your names now and you might be with mine as well so I thought you guys would like to see this picture. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and we got nailed by a storm. Over 30 inches and really windy. In this picture you can see that the drift on the right in front of my house is almost to the roof and that vehicle in the back of the driveway is my buddies truck (you can barely see the roof. And in front of that truck is my car that is buried with a 15 foot snow drift. You cant even see the car!! We are fortunate enough to still have power as most people don't in the area. Short Bed vs Long BedI didn't realize how much of a difference there was when backing up a fifth wheel. My father-in-law has been battling cancer for over 10 years now and I had to back in his fifth wheel a few weeks ago on our camping trip with his long bed ford truck. My short bed Mega cab can turn that fifth wheel any way quickly I want it too and can get the job done easy. I felt like it was my first backing in a fifth wheel with that long bed Ford. It takes so long for the fifth wheel to react when I turn compared to my short bed dodge. I will never own a long bed truck after that experience. Has anyone else drove a long bed and short bed then experienced this? Or was it because I was backing in a ford? ;)Re: Why did you go with a 5th wheel?I need to tow my Polaris RZR behind my camper and I wanted a vehicle to to drive to town if needed. A fifth wheel was the only way to go and I am very happy with how much value we got out of a fifth wheel. Double towing all the way!! Re: The deal is done!We LOVE Our Jayco! My Dad also has one and has owned his for 6 years with no problems! Congrats on your purchase!
