When I did use the power washer, I used the lowest setting and nozzle, it wasn't much different than using a hose. Pretty sure I will try a soft brush this spring and see how it works. The pressure washer really didn't save me much time last summer, no quicker than in the past. Sorry about posting in the wrong place. And no, I did not read the "warning" before I posted. I am a bad person.Cleaning my roofI have a rubber roof on my 2014 Starcraft Autumn Ridge 235FB which needs cleaning at least once per season. Is it safe to use a power washer on the rubber roof? Of course, I am asking after I did it last year. I used the lowest setting and it didn't seem to hurt anything. Just curious what others are doing and if I would be causing any unseen damage. ❚ Did you see the "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★"? Moved from FORUM TECHNICAL SUPPORT Re: Buying OnlineI purchased a pop up from Lakeshore many years ago, and they were pretty straight shooters then. If you are driving to Muskegon, you should take a drive down Division Avenue in Grand Rapids. If you are heading north on US131 toward Grand Rapids, get off at 76th Street, head east. You will hit Division almost immediately. Head north, you will see Camping World first, then RV World, Veurink's RV Center, Terryton Travel Center. We bought a new camper at Veurinks's, by far the smaller of each of these. They are a family owned place, we were very happy with our trade in and new camper. I would get off of Division after Terryton and back on 131, Division gets a bit rough the futher you head toward downtown GR.Re: Odd things that Happen when on the RoadDriving down the freeway in a pouring rain, a guy tried to kill himself by jumping off an overpass in front of our car. He mistimed his jump (by a lot) and landed on the freeway behind our car. We stopped, called 911, and ran back to see what we could do. He had a few drinks in him (which we could smell), but was talking to us, drunkenly telling us why he was trying to commit suicide. Involved a cheating wife. Police and ambulance came and took him away. Awfully glad he missed his target.Re: How much longer will we get to enjoy camping with our son?My "kids" (they are now 30,28, and 23) never tired of camping. Of course there were the typical teenager issues, but they never told us they didn't want to go. In fact, they still go with us when they can to our favorite campground. What I think helped was getting them their own tents. Not very big, but big enough to get away from the pesky parents. They would sleep in their own tents and come in the camper if the weather was too cold or wet. Don't give up hope! My now grown kids camp with their families.Re: Suburban dilemmaThis may sound crazy, but I was just talking to a coworker this morning who has a 2010 Suburban that was making a similar noise to yours. He figured a problem of some kind in the rear end. A local mechanic looked at it with him, and it turned out to be a rusted parking brake that he had never used.Re: I found a used Lance selling for way below retail.A few years ago, I was selling a camper on Craigslist. After a day or so, I get an email telling me my ad was removed due to it being a scam. I had no idea what was going on. Someone had hacked my Craigslist account, changed the contact info, and lowered the price from $9,900 to $1500. Obviously, someone called on the camper and reported "me".Re: Why campgrounds have gates.Going for a quick swim before leaving, it is around 11:00am. Notice someone watching us from a 50 yards away or so, pulled into another spot, don't think much of it, watching other campers is kind of a campground hobby for many. It is a Tuesday, so park is pretty empty. Before we go for the swim, we are mostly packed and ready to go. All five of us (me, wife, three kids, ages 10,8, and 3). Come back by noon or so, eat our lunch, finish packing up. Same people pull their car into the spot next to ours. Female with two teenagers. I am putting bikes onto bike rack, pop up down and hooked up, ready to roll. A park ranger comes over to our spot and almost whispers "the lady next to you has this spot next and is complaining. Are you leaving soon?" Silly question for a couple of reasons. As I said, everything to torn down, hooked up, and I am putting on the last bike. Also, check out is 1:00pm and it is almost exactly that time, but check in time is 3:00pm. I tell the polite ranger we are pulling out right now. I figure all is good, but then the woman starts to yell at us, telling us we are what is wrong with camping and we are a bad example for our kids. That comment got my wife upset (believe me, that takes a LOT). I told my wife to forget it. Here is the best part....as we were driving away, she yelled "I know the governor! You will never camp in a state park again!" and pretended to write down our license plate number on her hand with her finger. I thought her kids were going to bury themselves in the sand in embarrassment. I guess here threat wasn't real since my family and I are camping in a Michigan state park for two weeks starting this Sunday.Re: Sirius-XM Beware! dryfly wrote: After 5 years I've learned how to play the renewal game without a lot of talk. I pay $30 for 5 months service. Every time I call to renew that special offer is no longer in existence. I now understand I have to let them offer me the 1 year and 6 months offer which I then refuse by simply saying "no". Then they offer the $30 deal and I accept. If there is a problem hang up and call another off-shore rep. I only pay by check, but fully understand the hazards of auto-renewal. Exactly what we do. After a number of billing snafu's, we started paying by check.Re: More in the ongoing toilet smell saga... TyroneandGladys wrote: Very good chance what your smelling is not black at all but grey tank. Grey tanks can have a very foul smell also. The water can evaporate out of the p traps allowing grey tank smell to come into the RV. Run water in all the drains and you might find no more odor. I have seen this work numerous times. The leading culprit is the shower drain because people use it for storage and never run water down the drain. Please post if this takes care of it or not. We had the identical problem two weeks ago, and this was the exact problem. We use our shower for storage and the grey tank smell was coming from the shower drain. Ran water in the shower, smell gone.
