The Dinghy Buyers Guide says you can tow one, even if it's an automatic (it'll replace my wife's car and she won't drive a stick - I drive a pickup that has a stick and is too heavy to tow). Its weight is only a little ways about 3k lbs., so that's pretty favorable. I went out and looked at them on a lot today (it's Sunday, and the dealers are closed in Colorado on Sundays) and it looks like I'd fit in one. Anyone have an experience towing a Malibu?Re: Recommendations for a Toad??Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. Rest assured, I am going to delve into all these options. And I may contact one or more of you offline to ask some more specific questions. Take care all.Recommendations for a Toad??I am going to retire at the end of this year. My wife and I (have had a popup or travel trailer for over 20 years) are going to buy a Class A at the end of this year. Budgetary considerations prevent us from getting a Diesel, and we are looking at something like a Jayco Alante or a Fleetwood Bounder. We want to get a car to use as a Toad. Do folks have a suggestion as to what kind of car would make a good Toad? Keep in mind that I am 6'5" in height, so I can't be in a tiny car. Thanks for any help you can give me.Quality Control??I am retiring at the end of this year and my wife and I are planning on upgrading from a travel trailer to a Class A Motorhome. I have been doing a lot of research on what to get. Our budget can't exceed about 90k. I thought I had found the ideal motorhome in the Thor Motor Coach A.C.E. 29.4. It has everything we'd want (we don't have kids) including a king bed (I am 6'5", so a nice sized bed is more than a luxury). I've seen some videos on it, and I've looked at a lot of different dealer websites. As a second choice, I've been looking at some Fleetwood models and a Jayco model. Here is my problem. When I look for customer reviews of these motor homes it appears to be tough to find a review that is favorable (other than outside of the manufacturer's website). Indeed, looking at reviews for dealers, I find multiple unfavorable reviews for dealers (and their service departments as well). Is there a brand that generally gets favorable reviews, and is there a dealer that generally gets favorable reviews? As an example, though many people may not like Toyotas, most people concede that they generally make a high quality product. Is there a Class A motorhome equivalent? Bonus points awarded for someone recommending a high quality dealer as well. ;) We are willing to stretch above our budget in order to get something good. But I figure we've only got one chance to get it right. Thanks for any help you can give me.Re: Buyer's Guide for RV's?I saw this site (RV Reviews). Before I bought their book, I thought I'd see if there were any other alternatives, since I'd never heard of them before. Thanks for the info.Buyer's Guide for RV's?Can anyone recommend a Buyer's Guide for RV's, i.e., something like what Consumer Reports does every year for their car buyer's guide? I am retiring at the end of this year, and though we've had an RV for 20 years, we are upgrading from a travel trailer to a motorhome (likely Class A, about a 30'), and I'd like to do some serious research on the manufacturers, and their different models. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
