My tow vehicle is a 2014 F150 supercrew with a 145 inch WB. It has 355 gears with the 5.0 eng and LT toyo tires (50 psi). I have the reese duel cam WD system. I also installed a read sway bar with heavy duty bilstein shocks. My tow cap is 8000lbs. I still get a little bit of sway and was wondering is Firestone ride-rite air bags would help or if you can even combined the two. The Reese installation instructions are not the best. I have adjusted and played with it until I am blue in the face. I have been told you want a minimum of five links, I am at four. Do I need to tilt the ball more at an angle to achieve five links. Most of the sway comes in at 65 and above. I try to stay at 65 mph. The truck has plenty of power to pull the trailer. I have gotten around 14 mpg with an avg of 12. Passing semi's are the worst, they tend to suck you over and I know it's the different in pressures causing it. Any help would be great.Re: Are Toyo Open Country HT Good TiresNever heard of LesSchwab here in the south but looked up his web site, poor at best. When they don't even give you a price and you have to call for it that tells me the price is to high, they don't want you to be able to compare.Re: Are Toyo Open Country HT Good TiresI got a set of Toyo Open Country H/T 275/55R20 mounted and balanced + tax for $760 at Kauffman Tire here in Georgia. Tire Rack wanted more plus shipping.Re: Are Toyo Open Country HT Good TiresAny more it's very hard to know if a product is good or not since the internet came out, Good and bad. The good, if a product is bad it will come out here. The bad, you never know if the info you get is good. That's why I like to search the forums and talk to real people but on the other hand I have a friend who works for a well know company and all he does is sit in front of a computer and join forums that relate to the company's products and say good things about it. Some times you just have to go with your gut.Are Toyo Open Country HT Good TiresLooking at the Toyo Open Country H/T (d) tires for my F150. Anyone have any feedback on them, is it a good towing tire. It is a light truck tire with a D load range. I need to upgrade from a passenger tire to a LT tire.Re: F150 Towing ProblemsThanks for the info. The problem is I didn't buy this truck for towing, If I had I would have got one with a 373 gear and LT D rated tires. Even with the 331 gear it don't do bad. I thank the dealer didn't dial in the WD system right Because the front of the truck dropped 1" and from research and talking to a Fastway E2 tech that's to much so I added two more washers and now the front is at stock height and the back only dropped 3/4". The front is not higher than the back. Also the dealer had all the tires inflated incorrectly. One was ten pounds over. I have already looked into some light truck tires but before I go down that road I will test the new setup.Re: F150 Towing ProblemsStill have original tires. BridgeStone Dueler P275/55R20 BSWRe: F150 Towing ProblemsThe stock wheel well measurements of the truck are 38.5" rear and 37" front. After install and trailer hooked up with WD it's 36" all the way around. Dropped 1" in the front and 2.5" in the back. Trailer is level.Re: F150 Towing ProblemsThe trailer seems to wag it's tail. When I first got on the hwy I hit a bump and the back end of the truck bounced up and down a few times, That's why I was thanking about the air bags.F150 Towing ProblemsI have a 2014 f150 145" wheel base with the 5.0 V8, 331 gears, brake controler and 20" wheels. It has the tow package. Tow cap is 8000lbs. I just bought a 27 ft TT with a dry weight of 5800lbs. 700lbs TW. Installed the E2 round bar 10,000lb wd and I still having problems with sway. What are the best upgrades I can make to improve towing. I was thanking airbags might help or a heavy duty shock. Is there a good f150 tow tune out there for better power. The sway wasn't bad but not good either. I measured the front and back of the truck and both were at 36". The TT is level also. I was thanking maybe I don't have the tongue weight right. At 70mph the truck stays in 4th at 2800 rpms and will sometimes go into 5th on flat ground. Is this to much trailer for the truck.
