I have a Jayco Jayfeather and I need to remove the padded header above the door in the interior (so I can put a bracket to reinforcemy door opener). I removed the three screws that I thought were holding it on, but I've been pulling and pushing, but it won't budge! Is there any way to remove this without damaging it? Re: SEVERLY wobbly dining table Boomerweps wrote: My two legged dinette table initially did the hippy hippy shake. I measured the table and found the legs off center in EVERY way possible. I remounted the leg bases, on the floor and table and mounted the table top so it rests against the wall. Very little movement now. Because the table is made to be removable, it will have some movement. Nature of the beast. I never thought of it being off-center. That might be it. Thanks, I'll check that out too. I can't move it to the wall because it's right up against a window and don't want it resting there.Re: SEVERLY wobbly dining table JimK-NY wrote: I had a similar issue. The ends of the tubes are crimped inwards so that there is initially a good fit. Eventually wear caused a loose fit and I had to replace the tubes. You might want to start over with an entirely new table mount system. I went with the Lagun and really like it. Check out the videos. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking and I was shopping around, but I'm just worried that I'll replace them and be in the same boat. These pressure-fit type tables are never quite perfectly solid (in every camper I've been in, they've had a bit of a rock to them, but not as bad as I'm seeing now). It looks like they've invented some telescopic legs for campers, but they're quite expensive, but maybe even one would work for me, even though it is a larger table?Re: SEVERLY wobbly dining table dougrainer wrote: When secured CORRECTLY, this type table does not wobble. Odds are the floor mounts have stripped out their screws. Fix is to remove both floor mounts and rotate about 1 inch to get the mount screws to hit fresh wood. Doug It is VERY common for this type table system to come loose. When in table mode, pushing and pulling by the diners cause the mounts to strip out in the wood floor. They are secured correctly. The bases are absolutely solid and so is the ground/table. The legs seem to have a bit of room in the sockets.Re: SEVERLY wobbly dining table dougrainer wrote: When secured CORRECTLY, this type table does not wobble. Ours got wobbly because the floor socket cracked, fixed it by replacing the floor socket. Maybe the socket on the table isn't mounted solidly. Describing where it's wobbly would help. Do the legs not fit solidly into the sockets? The floor is solid and the sockets are solid, but the legs seem to move too much in the sockets. They seem to fit nicely when put in place, but then when you lean on the table, it moves....a lot.Re: SEVERLY wobbly dining table CA Traveler wrote: Try some tape for a shim and if resolved look for a more permanent shim. Yeah, I think I might try this first. Maybe some duct tape wrapped around the legs? I'll try it and report back.Re: Water pump randomly runs for short bursts JimK-NY wrote: No the pump can run even if all the faucets are off. One cause could be a slight leak. I would check the pump first. Slight leaks can occur with older pumps. Temperature changes can also cause the pump to run. If you turn off the hot water, pressure will slowly drop and the pump will cycle periodically to maintain the pressure. Changes in temperature can also do this even if the HW tank has not been heated. Temps dropping during the night can be enough to trigger the pump. If the RV is not in use, it is easy to check for leaks. Pressurize the system and turn off the pump. If ambient temps are roughly constant, pressure should hold for at least a day or two and the pump will not run when turned back on. What I'm afraid of is that it could be a leak inside the walls that I can't see. I don't have any water showing up anywhere that I can see (not around the pump either). How do I measure the pressure in my lines?Re: Water pump randomly runs for short bursts Reisender wrote: TheLostBoy wrote: Greetings all, I've had two campers in my life and the first one I had was pretty rough and had lots of issues. One was that the water pump would randomly run for a second or so, which I didn't have the time or funds to look into, so I just turned off the pump at night so we could sleep. We upgraded to a "newer" (to us) Jay Feather and for the last couple of years, we had no issues with it, but for our last two trips, the water pump started randomly running for a few seconds, just like our old camper. It SHOULD only run when water is called (faucet is opened) and I don't think I have any leaks (that I can see) and I made sure that all of the faucets were closed, but it STILL runs randomly and it it so frustrating. Do I need a new pump (or whatever the sensor is that tells the pump to run when the pressure after the pump drops)? Thanks, TLB Good morning lost boy. Start with replacing the check valve. If that doesn’t work you have a leak. The other thing I would do is check to see that the taps for your outside shower are turned off good. People forget to turn those off and just rely on the sprayer stop. Good luck with your search. John. Yeah, the outside shower was the first thing I thought of, but they're all tightly closed. No obvious leaking either.Re: Water pump randomly runs for short bursts Dusty R wrote: If you can find room, install a small bladder type pressure tank in the water line. I do have lots of room around the pump, so I may have to research this.
