My problem is as follows. I am currently staying in a campground which closes beginning of Oct. I have a house rental here starting Nov 1st. I need to find a place for the month of Oct. It gets to cold here In Oct and I need 50’s +/- at night. I will have to head south somewhere for the month . The less distance I have to drive to get my target temperature will of course save me money on gas. I do love the coast but it is not a deal breaker. I have a 30’ travel trailer and am a seasoned camper.Re: NH to Florida in JanuarySorry about that 6 hours brings me to around Newburgh NYNH to Florida in JanuaryI have decided I want to spend a couple months in Florida this winter. I would like to leave NH in January and go home in March. I have a 30’ travel trailer. My question concerns probably just my first overnight out on the road. My camper will be winterized. I really can’t drive more than six hours a day which will put me in pretty cold weather for that first overnight. I usually go rte 7 to Albany 87 to 81.I hate 81.Anyway are there year round campgrounds? Also staying in a hotel with a trucker parking lot came to mind. Was hoping to get some experienced suggestions.Garmin gps / used with good Sam trip plannerI have been using good Sam trip planner for years. Five years ago when I hit the road Good Sam put its name on a Rand McNally gps to go with their software. The combination worked great for me. I had trips in trip planner with 27 stops. Then they decided to change their trip planner software and pair it up to a Garmin gps. I like the software enough that I am about to buy a Garmin GPS My question is anyone using this software and if you are which Garmin gps are you using.Route 11 PennsylvaniaI absolutely hate rte 81 through PA on my way north to NY. I recently did it and the truck traffic is ridiculous. But even worst than that is the condition of the road. I can only imagine what is happening on the inside of my trailer as I hit bump after bump. I will be headed back to NC in a couple of weeks and I am thinking about using rte 11 through PA. Does anyone have any wisdom to share with me on your rte 11 experience. Definitely not interested in 95. Coming down from Albany on 88 to 81.Re: Switching from Florida to Arizona or TexasThanks on the Tucson idea. As far as the ocean it’s not a top prioritySwitching from Florida to Arizona or TexasLooking for some advice. I have been wintering in Florida for the past 5 years. Florida has gotten so busy and the red tide is never ending. I just really would like a change. I am looking for an area to spend November to April in. I have been thinking about Corpus Christi area or maybe Yuma. Unfortunately I know nothing about either. I prefer a smaller 55+ park. Also I am open to any other areas along the that are warm and will accommodate an active person.Route 160,166 KansasNext summer I am traveling cross country in my GMC 2500HD pulling a 30' TT. I am wondering if I could get some advice on traveling on Rte 160 all the way across Kansas. I mainly want to know if there are regular gas stations and any campgrounds along the way. It doesn't look like there is much there. The other choice I saw was Route 166.Last year I went across on Rte 54.Route 62 across ArkansasNext summer I am planing a cross country trip. I have a 30' TT and a GMC 2500. I am interested in hearing from travelers that have crossed uppper Arkansas on Rte 62. I generally avoid highways but do my research ahead of time for smaller routes.Buying 5th wheelI need help I am beginning to get overwhelmed trying to pick out a 5th wheel. I am looking for a 31' +/-Trailer. I have a budget of $35,000 and don't exspect luxury . I know the floor plan I like but the problem is trying to figure out which manufacturer to trust I have read so many reviews and I am coming to the conclusion that most reviews are written by a disgruntled customers. I currently own a Forest River TT. The quality has been less then stellar. I would love to hear from anyone who has had a positive experience with their 5th Wheel in my category.
