This is very helpful!Cabover conversion to entertainment centerHas anyone ever converted their bunk to an entertainment center? I have an Itasca Spirit 25F and am curious about the feasibility and cost. I would prefer to install the entertainment center that includes the trundle twin underneath it, but am not sure if that's possible. Please note I'm not going to do this myself. I would want to have it professionally installed. I'm still researching this, but would be interested in others' experiences.Re: Microwave/oven combinationMy MH has a convection/microwave combo and while it bakes nicely, I would prefer a gas oven. I can run the microwave for short periods but can't run both the convection and either the A/C or small electric space heater without tripping the breaker. So unless the outside temp is nice enough to not run either, I don't bake. It definitely limits the types of meals I cook when traveling in places/times requiring some artificial climate control. That all said, it isn't a big enough deal to pay the extra money to have it replaced. The 1-800-PIZZA-MAN is my go-to choice.Re: Batteries during storageUPDATE: Thanks again for all these replies. I still have so much to learn and your experiences are extremely helpful. I am sorry part of my post was unclear...I have the RV stored in an storage facility without electricity. The house battery "cables" are currently connected but the disconnect switch on the RV is in the OFF position. The chassis battery was still good (at least for now) so I had it charged and re-installed it leaving the negative cable off for now. I think I will invest in a good solar maintainer. Still plan to take her for a little spin every month or so if nothing more than to lube her joints, exercise the generator, and change the position of the tires. I'm leaning toward removing the house batteries during non-use and keeping them at my house with a smart charger...any recommendations for a charger (preferably one that can charge more than one battery, if such an animal exists)? Thanks.Re: Batteries during storageThanks for the replies everyone. This is all very helpful. SueBatteries during storageI am sure this question has been asked before but I did a search and couldn't find anything. When storing your MH for a few months (winter months) what should be done with the chassis and house batteries? Right now all three batteries are connected, but the house batteries are turned off. I start it and take it on a short (15 min) road trip every month or so, but I haven't turned on the house batteries during those trips, and now I have a dead chassis battery. Haven't even checked the house batteries. Sigh. Some context....I'm not new to the RV world, but new to this stuff as my husband used to take care of this stuff and now I'm doing everything solo (so be kind in your responses)....;) Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! SueInstalling MaxxAir vent cover - questionI am getting ready to (hopefully) install a vent cover on my bathroom vent. I've installed one on another RV but the frame of the vent on the roof of that unit was metal. My vent frame on this RV (2007 Itasca Spirit 25F) is fiberglass/plastic. Before I go drilling holes in this puppy, is there anything I should know? Or am I way over thinking this (which wouldn't be a first)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. SueRe: Upgrade to 50amp?Wow...thanks everyone for the great ideas....looks like I have lots to think about as well as lots of options. I'm glad to know there are others who have found a work-around. I get to benefit from others' brainstorming/trial and error. The real question, however.....and it boggles my mind....is why they still design RVs with electrical components that cannot be supported simultaneously by even 50amp service (let alone 30amp)...with all the technological advances in the world, you'd think they could figure this out......and I don't expect an answer, mind you..this was purely rhetorical....; ).....this question ranks right up there with why RV manufacturers still build coaches with decals....sigh. Thanks again everyone for all your help! SueRe: Upgrade to 50amp?LOL.....It takes me about 3 minutes to blow dry my hair....and no...it is not an inconvenience to shut off the AC while doing this. My AC runs fine with my coffee pot on and I can set the microwave for a 2-3 minute run without tripping the breaker. I generally don't leave my water heater on. I've been RVing for over 15 years and I too have learned how to adapt to such things and its not a big deal. What I probably should have stated more clearly is that I AM wanting to use the convection oven for baking but don't want to have to shut down the AC for a 30-40 minute stretch while I do that. It gets hot in Tucson...and yes....I could avoid baking/roasting in the summer time....but I don't want to have to. This was the basis of my original question. Thanks, SueUpgrade to 50amp?I just purchased a 2007 Itasca Spirit 25F which is 30amp. I've tripped the breaker once already using a blow dryer while the AC unit was running. I've also been told by my neighbors here in my RV park that I will most certainly trip it if I try to use the convection oven while the AC is on. I can adapt to the limitations this presents but would prefer to avoid it if possible...I am wondering if it is feasible to upgrade to 50amp or install a separate 20amp circuit to service the AC unit alone and plug it in separately to shore power (which a neighbor suggested). (I searched the forums for this topic but couldn't find it, so apologize if this has been addressed before). Any help/advice would be most appreciated! Sue
