Went to dealer and was told I had a bad glow plug but it was not necessary to fix it right away and when I did I should just do all 8 since if I had one bad one others could also fail and the labor was not much more to do all 8. Since then the truck has run fine but has not been through a New England winter yet. Question: Do I need to bother to do it at all? What could go wrong other than hard starting, in which case I will have it done. It is a 2006 LBZ with about 110,000 miles. Dealer maintained since new.Re: Doggie Dentistry-Fillings, Crowns, etc. Some years ago one of our Bouviers had broken a lower canine. We had a root canal done by a vet who did dentistry as a sideline. It worked perfectly. No crown, though. The vet was in Bridgeton, Maine. Well known in New England. Removing that large canine would have destabilized her jaw.curious about water flowSince our black water gauge doesn't work, after I dump I refill with fresh water but have no way to measure how much I put in. The external fill is direct to the flusher from the campground hose bib. I use a 25' 3/4" hose and let it run about 3 minutes with the dump valve closed. Anyone have any idea how much water that might be? I don't have a bucket. Also have one of those Oxygenic shower heads and always wondered how much that uses. The hose hookup has a pressure reducer on it, of course, just not the flusher.Interstate 10We will soon be leaving Rockport, TX to drive to Tucson. We are being warned about poor road conditions on I10. We could also take US90 but it is slower. Anyone done that trip recently and can update us on road conditions?Re: Invasion of Asian Lady BeetlesThanks to all who answered. We continue to vacuum them up with our Dyson Cordless which is an excellent tool. We get a few less each day but they are still with us. Decided against any insecticide use do to the dogs.Invasion of Asian Lady BeetlesWe think we picked them up at Bayou Segnette and for a while we thought they were cute. We did some reading and are following the idea of simply getting rid of them as they appear. We have a Dyson cordless with the crevice tool and we just suck them up. About once a day we dump them into a zip lock bag so they don't return. After about a week of this we are still sucking up 30-40 a day inside the RV. Is there a permanent way to end this short of burning the trailer? We thought about fogging but the foggers don't say anything about these beetles and we have dogs. Anyone out there have more ideas?Re: Maxair fan demise? Thanks to all who chimed in. It is, in fact, a Fantastic Vent. I talked to them a few minutes ago and while they said they couldn't tell me to put the aluminum foil in, they could give me the part number for the fuseholder. I proceeded to put a tiny ball of foil in the cap to make the fuse i little bit "longer" and it works fine. I will order a new fuseholder and replace it.Maxair fan demise? This topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29130809Maxair fan demise? We have a maxair fan up over the bed. Recently it stopped working while turned on. I turned it off and removed the fuse. It was hot enough to burn my fingers. I took down the screen and tried to spin it by hand and it spins easily. I cleaned the screen and replaced it and put the fuse back in - same thing. It runs for a minute or so and then slows and stops. Then I discovered that if I hold the black fuse cap all the way up all is good. It works fine, but when I let go the fuse comes out about 1/8" against a spring and slows and stops along with heating up the fuse. I can't see any way to replace the fuseholder. Can I just put a little ball of aluminum foil in the cap so the fuse fits tighter? I think that would work but would it be safe? It is the correct 4A fuse. This is original to the rig and never a problem before.Re: RV GPS RecommendationWe also have a Dezl and I would just add a few comments. Around town we often just use our smart phones. It's amazing how often the phones lose the GPS signal. It is at least 2-3 times every short trip. The Dezl never loses signal. Also the Dezl gives me the speed limit as well as my speed so I can be aware of constantly changing limits in small towns and on secondary roads. Got a ticket near a campground in North Dakota in the truck because I wasn't paying attention.
