You will come through the mountains, but it is mostly all 4-lane highway with 55 mph zones. We have only traveled on it from Springfield, OH down to Georgia. On google maps, search Sprinfield to Norton, VA to Dade City. It is right at 20 hours of driving. Once you get down to Asheville, NC, you can cut across NC toward Myrtle Beach or south on towards Hilton Head. We have a Ford F250 and a 38' 5'er that we have towed this direction. It is about 8 1/2 hrs from you, but Natural tunnel State Park would be a great 2nd night stop. It has sites that will fit up to 80 feet long, so you should not have a problem with that as long as you are in Lover's Leap Campground (they have 2 different campgrounds). NTSP gets a lot of Ohio traffic for the Bristol Motor Speedway races throughout the year and they use the Rt 23 route. Thanks! From Ohio to Florida via the Scenic RouteTrying to create a route and campground recommendations from Akron, Ohio to eventually winding up in Dade City Florida. We want to take the secondary roads with no real time frame to get there. Would like to visit Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach and any other suggestions any of you might have. The issue is that my trailer is 30 feet and my truck is a Ram2500 Crew Cab which is also very long. Need campsite recommendations where we can actually maneuver our trailer into spots with ease (AND WITH A DOG). Older campgrounds that we have encountered seem to never have great spots for a long rig and we get stuck in less than desirable spots. WOuld like suggestions for roughly every 300-400 miles we would potentially travel per day (not sure if that is too optimistic), Hoping some of you may have done this similar route before. Thanks in advance!Water leak around shut off under the floor, *See ic)Under my floor (which is under my sink), I have a black shut off valve which is leaking at the bottom (I think). How do I remove the copper rings around the shutoff without destroying the gray plastic pipes? If it is the shut off, what should I replace it with? Can't see using the copper again to clamp it. While the picture seems to show that I have lots of room, I really have only a couple of inches for maneuvering. Thanks in advance. Re: Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Cheyenne russkerri wrote: Hi Mark, . Thanks.Traverse City CampgroundsHaving never been in this area before, we would like to camp near Sleeping Bear Dunes /Traverse City for 3 nights next week, but cannot find spots available at the most mentioned popular places recommended on this site. Does anyone have other recommendations for a campground for two of us, our two dogs and a 26 foot travel trailer? Thanks in advance.Re: Ohio: Atwood Lake or Puderson Lake Lot NumbersThanks to you three that answered me. It was helpful.Ohio: Atwood Lake or Puderson Lake Lot NumbersWe are either going to Punderson or Atwood Lake in Ohio and would like for anyone that has been to either park if they have a favorite ROOMY lot number to park our 30 foot trailer and two dogs. Will need room to back in the trailer because I have a crew cab truck with an 8 foot bed to maneuver with. Thanks in advance.Re: Leveling BlocksFinal result: I am using 2 x 10's and the yellow Camco blocks from Walmart. 14 dollars cheaper than a comparable brand at Camping WOrld. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Cacmo-44514-FasTen-Leveling-Blocks-with-T-Handle-2-x-2/51494177 Thanks everyone for their input.Leveling BlocksDoes anyone use those yellow leveling blocks on their dual wheeled travel trailers or is just buying a 2 x 10 and cutting it up work just as well/ Drawbacks? Thanks in advance.Re: If Truck is towed, what happens to the TT ? RoadsideGuy wrote: Hello Akronharry - Thanks for your post. Good Sam Roadside would tie both vehicles in this example, either by "tow in tandem" or by dispatching 2 service trucks to facilitate the tow. Hope that helps! Thanks,WOuld the trailer be towed free of charge or is there a cost?
