I-75 from Florida to Ohio
Headed back to Ohio early next week. Have 5th wheel and well stocked with food and water. Only need to get diesel at truck stops. Will stay one night south of Atlanta and second night near Lexington. Check and campgrounds are available. So my question is how’s the traffic on 75? Will probably be traveling Monday-Wednesday. Figure after April 1st things with snowbirds might slow down. We will be headed back to Ohio in early April from Florida. We have 2 routes close to same time/distance. First is I-75 and alternate is I-95 to I-26 to I-77 to Cleveland. I-75 is more direct, but I hate the heavy truck traffic on it. We are going from Ft Myers to Marblehead, Ohio. Also considered angling northeast and taking 321/301 to Charlotte then I-77. So here’s the question? Any thoughts on potential traffic on these routes? We will be on the road April 8-10. Not sure what to expect with all this Covid stuff. Will be going through Atlanta Monday after Thanksgiving. Probably mid-day. Heading southbound with 5th wheel. What is my best route to follow? Last year was a backup north of city and stayed on 75 through downtown. It went well once we got by the bypass. Seemed the backup was all th semis lined up to go on bypass. We spend 4 months in Florida and suffer with the same problem as many RV'ers. Campground WiFi is lousy. In the past Ive just paid extra for more Gigs and use the hot spot on my Verizon plan. Not great, but has worked. I don't need the unlimited plan since my home wifi works well for 8 months in Ohio. I saw a Weingard WiFi Extender at Camper World and asked how well they work. Guy said people were happy with them. Cost is about $200 for it or $350 for the one with 4G. Then installation cost. Before I lay out $4-500 bucks Id like to hear what you folks think.
