If the problem hasn't improved, we will have them look into this possiblity.Re: excessive undercarriage noise in 2014 Jayco White Hawk 23MBHIt's interesting that another new trailer with the same configuration doesn't make the noise. The trailer is brand new, so it's not worn shackles, but the noise is coming from the shackles, according to the dealership, and this will "wear off" after some use. To us, metal grinding on metal can never be a good thing. We're going to have to take it out again and see if the lubrication has helped. It's frustrating because we have to take the dealerships word for it at this point. Noise is subjective - to us, the amount of noise it's making is unacceptable; to the dealer, it's normal. I guess we will be in touch with Jayco if it continues. Hate to have to go down that road with a new trailer. Thank you for the replies.excessive undercarriage noise in 2014 Jayco White Hawk 23MBHWe were wondering if anyone has experienced an excessive amount of undercarriage noise in a new trailer. Our Jayco, purchased two weeks ago, makes loud metal-on-metal cracking noises when backing up. The dealership initially told us it was the sway bars, but it continued when positioning the trailer without the sway bars, and it was clear that the noise was coming from the axle assembly. We have had two previous trailers (Jayco) with only mild clicking noises from the brakes, etc. This new one is really, really loud. It's hard to imagine backing into a campground site at night with this thing banging and cracking. The dealer has now lubricated the area, which helps a bit, and has told us that the noise is caused by the wide stance of the axles and that it will settle down in time. In the meantime, the trailer soounds like it's self-destructing whenever we move it backwards. It doesn't seem right to us - has anyone else had this problem? Thank you in advance.
