I went further back and disconnected the out from the 30a breaker and it still tripped itself.Re: Onan 4kw issueThere is only 3-4 amps being drawn when the breaker tripsRe: Onan 4kw issueSo I have chased all lines from the genny to the transfer switch, undid and inspected all wire nut connections, tightened all ground connections and found nothing. The transfer switch appears fine and I manually forced the mechanism back and forth multiple times to make sure it wasn’t welded. Still having them same issue of the 30A breaker on the genny kicking. Now while I’ve been working on this, I’ve been running the generator a lot, and it seems that as the day has gone on, it’s gone from kicking the breaker nearly instantly last night to almost 20 secs to kick it now. Is there some kind of feedback loop that’ll kick that breaker?Re: Onan 4kw issueThanks, I’ll keep diggingRe: Onan 4kw issue Re: Onan 4kw issue Re: Onan 4kw issueDid some digging and chased the wiring across the chassis where it comes up through the floor on the opposite side of the rv, it ends there, somebody pulled it apart and there’s a switch that’s completely unwired. Any ideas or a schematic? No other loose wires beyond the four coming from the generator Re: Onan 4kw issueThanks for the very quick replies, I’m gonna dig in today and see what I can findOnan 4kw issueNew RV owner here, just purchased a 97 Coachman Leprechaun with a 4kw Onan genny, generator starts and runs fine, but the 30A breaker on the genny stays kicked. I have all the breakers in the rv turned off and when I turn the 30A on it kicks within 5 secs. Any help would be much appreciated
