This is my first post in the Class A section. We may go look at a Canyon Star tomorrow. I've been lurking here for quite some time and understand Newmar manufactures a quality coach. This one is on the Workhorse chassis. I know about the brake recall; just not sure if it applies to a 2005 model or how to find out if it has been fixed. Also with 3 bay doors behind the rear axle, it appears to have a longer tail swing than other coaches. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for? Any comments are welcome. Thanks, RickyRe: Winnebago 5th wheelMy "OK" rating was based solely on my experience with our previous campers, Jayco pop up, Thor Aerolite 5er, Jayco hybrid followed by 2 Jayco 5ers. It has never been within our budget to purchase an RV as nice or as well built as Mobile Suites or as well appointed as Redwood by Thor. The main reasons we chose the Winnie was our TV capabilities, floor plan and Winnebago's reputation regarding customer service. I knew going in; you don't get an $80K- $100K RV for $30K. So I guess I will stick with "SAME OL' LIGHT AND CHEAP".Re: Winnebago 5th wheelNot sure which model you're looking at. We have a 2013 Lite Five which has been renamed the Voyager. I'm also not sure about the tail gate issue since we can open and close with it hooked up to our short bed. Maybe a long bed is a different story. Build quality is OK for an entry level camper. Overall we have been pleased with the camper and Winnebago. If you have specific questions, let me know.Re: Charleston, SC Campground?Christmas light show begins in November. Make your reservations soon. They fill up quick. Last year they hosted the Tin Can Club the first weekend in November. Saw some awesome restorations.Re: Charleston Orangeburg Santee SC BBQ ???You will be hard pressed to find a small town BBQ joint open on Sunday in the Carolinas. While you're visiting Charleston, give Home Team BBQ a try. Very good food.Re: blew voma trail express tireSorry for your problem. We have the same tire on our Winnebago. I'm very interested in their response.Re: Sunnybrooke / winnabago qualityWe also have a Winnie Lite 5 30FWRES. Just got back from a week in Myrtle Beach, Pirateland. The only issues after our intial shakedown in April were a piece of trim in the bedroom coming down, the cable was wired wrong and the shut off valve on the black water tank needed adjusting. All of this was fixed before our trip to Myrtle. The only other suggestion is make sure you get the optional 16" wheels. Ours are 15". Other than that, we are very happy with our rig.
