Any recommendations on best time to travel thru these states (season, months); highways. We'll be driving a 2017 Class A Thor ACE 30.3. Any insights will be helpful to a newbie Thank You!!Re: Coach area overhead bedRe:steel supports The bed is lowered by "jacks", one one drivers side and one on passenger side; as these jacks extend and lower the bed, the bed unfolds - As it unfolds, the passenger side of the bed appears to hang lower while descending tilting the drivers side over too far causing the damage. I am unsure how these supports affixed to the bed frames edges/sides prevents the misalignment...Coach area overhead bedHello! have 2017 thor ace 30.3. Home from road trip with lots of bumpy freeways. Used bed above coach area for first time. noticed after a few miles it lowers out of alignment causing damage to driver side upper storage area veneer and upholstery when lowering. no problems while rising back into place. Anyone have any ideas on DIY correcting? Thank you!!Re: What The Heck???WoW, like the saying goes KISS...The house battery cabling resolved. Everything works whether shore power or house batteries; chassis battery is good - engine starts right up. As for levelers turns out i tripped two buss fuses. Levelers operational, generator too! I continue to learn much from your advice - becoming a better RV'r. Now we have to reconfigure our road trip - Thank you everyone!Re: What The Heck???Retracing my steps I identified errant house batt cable connection. disconnected this one cable from pos post to neg post. using only house batts, interior lights, slide-outs, awning etc working again. connected chassis battery no smoke, engine started. Shore power also working again. Seems i am now back to my original problem: LCI levelers will not retract. Did the reset at panel - that did not help; 15amp fuse in pump compartment ok. Here is a picture of the house batts don't know that it will be useful...Re: What The Heck???When you say nothing works do you really mean nothing ? Yes, nothing works - Does it even try to start or make a noise ? No. Won't turn over. house lights, tv, microwave, generator, slide-outs - nada Headlights work ? No Grounds are often the problem , I would look at the battery ground cables . When the engine died were you doing any thing like trying to start he gen ? No. Trying all the "fix-its" from the service tech, he told me to start engine (which was running fine earlier) to see if the levelers would retract. started engine; it ran about 3 minutes then just shut off. wouldnt restart...Re: House Batteriescuriouser and curiouser...so after a break i stuck the hydrometer on the chassis battery: dead. Pulled it and dropped it off at auto store: dead cell and cannot hold a charge. Purchase suitable comparable battery, check with meter 12.60. i attach negative; upon securing positive, smoke appears and wiring harness is getting hot. disassembled quickly...internet search says the alternator may be bad. I presume the house batt and its systems operate independently of the chassis batt and its' systems??Re: What The Heck???confirmed both house batteries are linked in parrallel on the positive posts; checked voltage of chassis battery: -0-. house batts both at 12.60.Re: What The Heck???2017 Thor ACE brand new came with two batteries. hydrometer affirmed they were dead; took them to auto store - could not be recharged. purchased two replacements of suitable compatabilty. while the neg posts are parrallel i honestly do not recall if the positive posts of each battery were in parrallel. Should these two batts positive posts be in parrallel? If so i would need to figure out which of the existing cables should be the parrallel one...Re: What The Heck???output voltage: i am no mechanic. i know the batts are 12.6 volt (ez test using meter to the respective poles/posts) but not sure how to test/where to place testers to check output to coach. I agree the problem originates fron new battery install, just not certain how to proceed. The two batteries are not hooked up in parrallel on the positive posts but the negative posts f each batt are hooked to each other by a single cable
