Best to all of youForest River Roo vs Jayco Jay FeatherGood Morning, Trying to decide on one of the following New 2019 Jayco Jay Feather X19H $16,900 or Used 2016 Forest River Roo19 $12,500 I would appreciate opinions on the Jayco vs Forest River and any regarding these individual models; quality, resale, durability etc Also, do the prices seems reasonable, high or great buys? I do like both and am about to pull the trigger but having a difficult time deciding which. Of course new is appealing but it is $4,000 more though in great shape. Anything you can recommend that I may not be considering? Thanks folks!Re: Richmond area camping?By the Way, visited Watertown several times when my son was stationed at Fort Drum. Lots of fond memories. Beautiful there in the summer, little cold in the winter.Re: Richmond area camping? If you would like something with a little more of a country feel, check out Cozy Acres in Powhatan, VA. Depending on where your tournament is being held, it may or may not be convenient. Powhatan is the next county over from Chesterfield. http://cozyacres.com/attractions.htmlRe: Ordred a Jayco X17ZI do understand the CCC. I realize you have to account for everything; battery, propane, any extra weight that is added. We will be doing weekends and a week at most at one time. We'll also have a large empty TV with plenty of room. We travel light. Can't imagine we'll ever run out of capacity between the TV and trailer. We won't be living in it, just vacationing in it. Thanks for your insight.Re: Ordred a Jayco X17ZNo problem with the CCC. Only my wife and I. We'll be staying in RV parks, won't ever be carrying water. 700+ will be plenty of capacity for our needs. Mostly long weekends and a few weeks here and there. But thanks for the thought, we did take it into consideration when we ordered. I was looking for a lighter weight trailer in the event I want to step down in tow vehicle in the future. Regards, Rich M.Ordred a Jayco X17ZI ordered a Jayco X17Z site unseen as no dealers nearby with this model in stock. Seems to have all we need for just two of us. Anyone familiar with this camper, appreciate comments and / or suggestions etc. Putting together my list of what I need and what I need to do in preparation for our first outing this spring. Thanks All, Rich MRe: Myrtle Beach, SC, where do you recommend? Thanks much folks; plenty to consider. Bottom line, I'm sure we'll enjoy any one of the parks. We are 60 years old, our children are grown but still enjoy seeing the kids, activities and the rest. Can also enjoy a more peaceful CG, especially for our first trip out. The biggest attraction for us is the beach and salt air. We just ordered a new trailer, its been years since we owned one so I guess you could call us newbies. Thanks again, we'll report back after our first outing.Myrtle Beach, SC, where do you recommend?I had made a reservation for Ocean Lakes for the first week of June and have since cancelled it after hearing from someone how crazy crowded it is; he said too many golf carts, crowds of kids and just too much like a circus. Myrtle Beach Travel Park was recommended as an alternative. Appreciate any insight and recommendations. Thanks much, Rich MRe: PricingThe bottom line is the out the door price. I have two deals written up by the same dealer. The end result is the same; the line items are a little different. Doesn't matter what they label costs in between whether it be PDI, delivery or processing fees. Its the out the door cost. Know the market and what to expect the total price should be. There is something to be said for working with a dealer that is convenient, honest and known for doing good work. I was willing to pay a little more for same. Could have driven to PA from Virginia and saved $1,500 but chose a dealer within a half hour. I think that will serve me well in the future. Good luck.
