Ordred a Jayco X17Z

Dry weight of only 2785. Nice. Now it's like an 8 year old waiting for Christmas.:)

I got the X20E, I would suggest keeping an eye on your exterior seams, bunk ends, roof etc, I've had to re-caulk mine a few times.

hope you looked at the carrying capacity of that hybrid.
many don't do enough research, only to find that it has a very low CCC amount. This is common on these 3500lbs. GVWR hybrids.
suggest you get the yellow sticker weight and subtract that from the trailer's GVWR.
I don't think you'll be pleased with how little is left over for cargo, propane, battery and water.

No problem with the CCC. Only my wife and I. We'll be staying in RV parks, won't ever be carrying water. 700+ will be plenty of capacity for our needs. Mostly long weekends and a few weeks here and there.
But thanks for the thought, we did take it into consideration when we ordered. I was looking for a lighter weight trailer in the event I want to step down in tow vehicle in the future.

Congratulations! Our X20E is our second Jayco hybrid, and our 3rd Jayco product that we bought new. Our first was a '93 1208 pop-up, and the first hybrid was an '03 Kiwi 17a, the ancestor of your X17Z. We owned both of those trailers for 10 years each.

Jayco makes a solid trailer. Overall construction is very good. We have not had any issues that required warranty work. However, I am willing to fix small things myself rather than drag the trailer back to the dealer and leave it sit for 6 weeks. That said my only disappointment is in the details. A screen door latch that doesn't catch, a misaligned deadbolt lock, a piece of door jamb molding on the bathroom door not glued down prevented the door from fully closing.

These are things I missed on the delivery inspections. Nothing big, but a bit annoying.

Regarding periodic caulking, that's a given. In fact, periodic inspection, caulking, painting the frame, etc. are all highlighted in the owners manual as owner responsibilities. Keep up with these things and your X17Z will last many years.

I don't think that you understand.
You don't have 700+ pounds for the CCC.
that's what a stripped-down version of that trailer has.
that's why I suggested that you get the actual yellow sticker weight of the trailer and subtract that number from the 3500 GVWR.
that will give you your real world CCC.

I do understand the CCC. I realize you have to account for everything; battery, propane, any extra weight that is added.
We will be doing weekends and a week at most at one time. We'll also have a large empty TV with plenty of room. We travel light. Can't imagine we'll ever run out of capacity between the TV and trailer.
We won't be living in it, just vacationing in it.
