Yes I think people could have some concerns about the border with what they read and hear in the media. Hopefully they would take a closer look and see the large number of “winter Texans” that come down each fall and winter - well above 100,000. Many of us live here full time in 55 plus communities. Also there is a large number of “winter Texans” that cross the border in to New Progresso, Mexico each day ( I have heard the figure of 5000 to 8000 a day. These are normally day trips. I just recommend anyone who has concerns about security do a little research on line in local media to the area and they will see it is very safe. Thanks though for your heads up because I suspect as you, it is a very real perception.Park Host Opportunity at Bentsen State ParkIn discussion with the volunteer coordinator for Bentsen State Park in Texas (A World Birding Center Park) she indicated that they don't get as many applicants to be “hosts” as they would like. Being an RVer myself and having been a full timer for a while I know there are a lot of people out there who would be interested in this type of opportunity. I offered to post their link on the forum for those who might have an interest. This would be for the 2020-2021 season https://tpwd.samaritan.com/recruiter/1353/OppDetails/216894/Park-Host-2020-2021-Bentsen-RGV-State-Park/#.XcG0GtJKi9IRe: Flickering Lights in part of the bedroomThe four lights in the bedroom are on one switch and flicker in unison. The flicker is ver slight and quick. The same situation with the ones over the bedroom shelf. I remembered that I had used a charging station for iPhones that is in the same area and that charging station had been a problem before. ( I had it looked at by an RV repair facility and for $200 they “fixed” it by rewiring. somethings - that was a year ago and I have used the charging station very little since then I unplugged the phone that was charging when I remembered and the lights still flickered. This morning when I got up all was well and the lights did not flicker. I suspect the charging station was the problem - that it over heated and created the issue. I am a novice with RV electricity. I think I will not use the charging station again and then have the whole system checked out when I get home. I have 10 days of travel before I get there. Thanks to you guys for taking the time to reply.Flickering Lights in part of the bedroomHad been away from my MH for a day and noticed that when I returned that the four overhead lights in the bedroom as well as one in a little shelf area in the bedroom had a slight flicker when turned on. The two lights over the bed that are activated with individual push switches are fine as well as all other lights throughout the MH. Tried to ascertain anything different as far as plugging things in etc - but really nothing else had changed. The lights work just slight flicker. Any ideas or reason for concern. Thanks for any input or recommendation2.6 Cu Ft Mini refrigerator ReplacementThe mini refrigerator that came in the outside kitchen of my 2017 Thor ACE has stopped working and needs to be replaced. I am a little surprised that it went out after just over 2 years Interested in any recommendations for replacement - ones that are perhaps more durable and best suited to be installed in the outside kitchen of a class A. I cannot really find much on the PD brand that came with the motorhome and not sure I would replace it in kind if I could since it only lasted the 2years (am I being unrealistic to expect it to last longer). Any experiences or recommendations would be appreciated.Re: Best route to I15 traveling north from KanabThank everyone for their response. Saw some 8% long grades and the point about few pull off's and slowing traffic we decided take 89 to 70 and then to 15. Wife points out she can go by “Big Rock Candy Mountain” if we gothat way so you know what she voted ??Re: Best route to I15 traveling north from KanabBelieve the tunnel is on 9 not 20. Thanks for the thought though.Best route to I15 traveling north from KanabLooking at going north on 89 from Kanab UT to route 20 which is about 10 miles north of Panguitch to get to I15. RV Trip Wizard routes me that way but looks like some mountains with twist and turns. Has anyone taken their RV over that route and think it is okay.? Thanks fRe: RV Parking at Hovenweep National MonumentThanks to all who responded. As always I can count on my fellow RV'ers to come through. :)
