Yes, we purchased a 2012 Keystone Cougar also and really like it.Re: 6.4 Hemi w/3.73Our 2011 Ram SLT 2500 w/CTD always returns 12 to 14 mpg with our 2012 Cougar 8500 lb. when towing as in last weeks trip to Asheville NC. Also around 21mpg empty. Not to bad for a $31000 vehicle with 37000 miles purchased this year. EB alone makes it an incredible vehicle.Re: Rear caps - pros and consHey folks - Just a thought here, do you think that because of the new radiused roofs, that may have bearing on the shape of rear "caps"? I mean it's a lot easier to put a "cap" on a more squared off back I would think. Comments?Re: Reese Goosebox and Lippert Frame Failure ReportAmen Mad Norsky! This from an also "retired Air Force" type. Hope this closes the thread.Re: Is Trailer Life a Recommended Read?Hey folks, have you forgotten the "Problem Resolution" section? They (Trailer Life) have helped many people (myself included) obtain help or recoup money from dishonest companies. I get kick out of how cooperative some companies are when this magazine goes public with our otherwise ignored letters.Re: Ecoboost not the headline imagine that.Ethical company? Try getting away from FOMOCO Finance! Ask our daughter if you have doubts. The people there should be arrested for their unethical buisness practices.Re: Hemi 6.4 Ram vs Ford 6.2 (gas)Some of these discussions seem to center on the initial cost of the diesel truck as the main factor in the selection. I recently purchased a 2011 Ram 2500 SLT like new for $31,500 (37,000 mi.) It is head and shoulders above our old 2002 2nd.generation CTD (comfort and power mainly). We just returned from a 240 mile drive and I hand calculated my towing mileage at 14.3 mpg with our 2012 Cougar 276 (8500 lb loaded) on I10 and I75 here in Florida. Also, I purchased a premium 5 year/ 100,000 mile extended warranty for $2081 that is through our credit union (zero deductable) for ease of mind. I plan on using the truck for mainly hauling, with the 4 cyl Pontiac G6 for groceries etc. Once again, at time of trade or sale, (a LONG ways off), I'm sure the Cummins will once again pay for itself. I'll take the Cummins any day thank you very much. I know this is off the OP thread, but as others have mentioned each platforms merits, I just wanted to add my $.02.2011 Dodge Ram 2500 anti sway barCan someone help me understand why our previous 2002 Dodge Ram CTD had a rear anti sway bar but our "new" 2011 2500 6.7 diesel does not? Thanks for any input.Re: 2011 Ram 2500Hi The truck is 2wd with 3.73 rear end. I admit I drove for optimum mileage (62 mph with cruise control for good portion, no A/C etc,). Also I picked up a 5 yr/100,000 mile comprehensive warranty thru our credit union for $2018. Think this truck and I will be "bonding " as time goes by.2011 Ram 2500Just checked our "new" 2011 Ram 2500 SLT crew cab 6.7 mileage for the first time. Was surprised at over 20 mpg (with a small amount of city driving in Chrystal Springs Fl along US 19). I hand calculated (fill to max before and after). I have been reading horror stories about terrible mileage etc and the need to perhaps look for an expensive "delete kit" etc. Our last Dodge was a 2002 extended cab. It routinely delivered an honest 22 to 23 mpg on highway. Only reason we sold it was very difficult for wife to turn around in back seat (she's had knee surgery and cannot sit up front with leg bent for long periods of time. Also, this comes with factory exhaust brake). This "newer" truck with 38,000 miles surpasses our old beloved '02 CTD by a wide margin. I plan to stay on top of all maintenance for EPA stuff as I have always done for our '02 in general. Kudos to the Ram team!
