Where can I find RV traveling companions..
I joined this site so I can find it, and there is not a section for that on forums so guess this is not the site..(someone told me to join the RV club sponsored by Sam and I could fine someone.) Do not yet have an RV so would like to join someone who does. Am a female so I can hear the cautionary warnings but I have found cruise companions on Cruisemates.com, no problem, even though most of been males, no untoward experiences, one got a little frisky but hey, he was an Italian man from Italy and when I rebuffed him, respected that. I do realize that being on a cruise ship is different from being alone with someone in a vehicle but can screen someone well. Tried travel websites like Travel Companion Exchange, TravBud and Travel Buddies, posted of travel forums like Fodors and Frommers, even on Craigslist, Roaming Times (which DID have a companion forum) is now taken over by a commercial site. This site would be the best, is it NOT allowed for liability issues although they could post a disclaimer.12KViews2likes21CommentsLooking for place to sell used RV accessories
Anyone know of a forum where I can post some used & new unused RV stuff for sale. We've done some upgrades and have a fair amount of stuff removed from our new toyhauler and kept from our previous 5er that we no longer need. I really don't want to deal with Craigs list if I can avoid it.3.1KViews1like13CommentsWhere do you put your trash can?
In both our previous Class A's we had space for a 13 gal trash can under the sink. In our last FW we had space for 2. In our current MBS Class C, there is no place I can think of to put even a small trash can. Looking for creative ideas you folks may have come up with.3.3KViews1like15Commentssalvage title
Hello, I am hoping someone might have an idea to help my situation. My Okanagan camper was in an accident and the other drivers insurance decided it was a total loss and paid me for it. They paid me less because i decided to keep it. they never gave me anything to sign other then a check. They did tell me they might put a salvage title on it.I live in California. California does not have title/registrations for cab over campers. First question is how would they put a salvage title on something with out a title. They could not answer that question other then just wait to see what happens. My attorney had the same answer. My insurance had not the slightest clue. and Ca DMV has no idea either. second question is my insurance told me they will no longer insure it if gets a salvage title. Anyone know of an insurance company that does insure salvage campers? I have fixed the camper and you can not tell it was ever in an accident. Thank you3.5KViews1like16CommentsI Bought A Travel Trailer I Had Never Seen (in person)
I bought a travel trailer that I found on the Internet having never seen it in person. The dealer's ad is still up. I'll post a link below. I searched RV Trader and other websites to get an idea of what was available and what was a good price. I wanted a new bunkhouse model with a separate bunk room. I'm not using it as a bedroom. I'm using it as storage and for my electronic piano. It's long, 36 feet and my truck is long and it has been a nightmare for me to drive and park, but I'm settled in my summer RV park where I plan to spend 6 months in North Carolina so the stress of driving it is behind me for now. I started searching back about December knowing that I wanted it before April. I priced similar models in Texas and they were at least $5K more expensive. Some may have had more features like a second AC or something, but I was going for economy and I was even willing to take the "sticks and tin" version like this one. I know the Jayco name so I wasn't too worried about value in that respect. I found this one in Knoxville, Tennessee and I thought, "I'm going to North Carolina. I'll just pick it up next door." So I also saved some money not pulling it over 1,000 miles and paying more short term parks. I closed the deal in February sight unseen, except I had seen their Internet photos. They agreed to let me keep it on their lot until April 30. I picked it up on April 4. Am I satisfied with the trailer? Well, I don't know if I would say satisfied. There are a lot of cheap build items in the trailer and I'm not happy with a lot of the storage in the kitchen, the bed sucks, and the front door doesn't close very well. I'm concerned some day I won't be able to get it shut. But I can work around those things. I would say I am satisfied with the purchase and I would probably do it again because of the price. It serves my needs and I think I got a good deal. Edit: Part of the reason I was willing to trust the dealer is because it is part of a chain of family owned dealerships around the Tennessee area named Dunlap RV. I looked them over on the Internet and took a calculated risk. I didn't get burned, but it could be a risky approach to take. Maybe very risky. Due to health reason I have not traveled for a few years. Getting ready for a new trip. I have an old Pilot/Flying J My rewards card -- RV customer. I used it for a fill up at FJ along with my credit card. NO DISCOUNT. Have they change the program? Years ago I got $.03 off each gallon.4.4KViews1like18CommentsBlack Tank Treatments - Yay or Nay?
This is two-part thread.... I have been RV camping for most of my life. I can always remember my dad using the old blue liquid in the toilet after dumping the tanks. This what I did once I started camping with my family. How many of y'all use chemicals in the black tank? WHEN do you use the chemicals? I have seen few videos that talk about the treatments becoming inactive after a long period of time sitting in the tank and even causing issues with build-up. My common sense light comes on when I think about adding the treatment before the trip. Also, this is my first camper with a built-in flush for the black tank. Once I am done, do I need to add any water or anything? Thanks in advance!9.3KViews1like61CommentsBeware of RV Parts Country in Kentucky
Disregard the supposed thousands of 5 star reviews! This company gets a F from the BBB. They have habit of shipping broken or damaged goods, I can attest to that, as well as the BBB. Then there is no customer service, only a voice mail message says to contact them through a web page then the line hangs up. You cannot EVER talk to a real person. I am on my 3rd week trying to return a broken on delivery Dometic Toilet. You have been warned.5.7KViews1like30CommentsApex Club on Reserve America
Just finished reserving a few nights camping with ReserveAmerica.com and I noticed an ad for the Apex Club. Some kind of discount thing for camping and accessories. Tried to look up some information about it, like membership fees but couldn't find much. Anybody use this?1.9KViews1like3Comments
