- diveman52ExplorerI won't ever do it again. Very Long, slow road. Lots of up and down.
- downtheroadExplorerBeside what has already been posted..(hilly, curvy) it's a good road, very doable in any size RV...but, it seems to take FOREVER.
Redding can be blistering hot this time of the year..a huge difference than Eureka.
Have a good trip. - donn0128Explorer IILots of climbs and decents, lots of twists and turns. Basically a very slow road. There are better alternatives depending on your final destination.
- IslandmanExplorer IIJust take it easy on the whole route and be careful in the Buckhorn Summit area near Weaverville. CA 299 is a good road and you should have no problems.
- scroller95969ExplorerI've towed our cargo trailer with our motorhome many times on this route. There's a long grade from the Eureka side and it's got a lot of turns but overall is ok. It's a scenic drive but for some reason seems to take forever to cross. Free dump station at the rest stop past Willow Creek going east. As a side note don't even think of crossing Hwy. 36 to from Fortuna to Red Bluff. I have pulled that but wish I hadn't.
