I have towed my Jeep on a car trailer through there many times. Go 5mph under the speed limit and you will be fine. Its not the curves. Its the uneven road surface that requires slightly lower speed. Unless you have a cell booster expect intermittent cell service.

WSDOT has a page reporting on the spring plowing of this pass. Their flickr photostream also posts photos, past and present. This winter has been wet but warm, so snow pack is low. My guess is that they will get this pass open earlier than usual.

I pull a 34 ft trailer over 410 each fall with no problems. Take it slow and enjoy the sights

My only caution would be that the most scenic areas on the west side before you get to those switchbacks are also interesting when heading eastbound due to the total lack of guardrails ...... just to your right and before the steep drop of hundreds of feet. Not for the squeamish. Just keep your attention on the road and pull over to look at the views and you will be fine. It is one of my favorite drive, for sure.

Those aren't real switchbacks, just 180 deg curves. You've driven worse on freeway on ramps. And the typical 90deg street intersection turn is much tighter.

Zoom in on Google Maps with Sat view. Compare the loops with the WA123 intersection at the base of the hill. Or the parking lot for Tipsoo Lake. Or the view point parking lot just on the other side of the pass.

If it was only switch backs. It has a good grade change right on the switch backs. We drug out hitch for the toad. Not sure what kind of power you have with the toad. You could make it as long as you are aware of it and have no surprises.

Thanks for the heads up.... We went through some pretty tight switchbacks on Highway 1. I noticed that the Tracker tracks (inside) the wheel base of the Sprinter..... I'll run it by Mama and if she says disconnect I'll do it..... LoL
