Just to clarify, there's no monthly service fee if you have a Sunpass transponder linked with a credit card. Another benefit is use of the cruise-thru Sunpass-only lane, of course, when the other lanes are backed up.
Before we moved to Florida, we simply went through the Toll by Plate which, for one shot, was full cost plus a $2.50 fee to mail us a statement a few weeks later. The main downside was concern we would be away on a planned long trip when the mailed statement finally came.
