- ScottGNomadI have the second one. It's good because it hold something like 2.5 gallons and is easier to hold while it's draining into the tank.
The only bad thing is the vent just pushes into the top and if you slosh it around enough some water can dribble out the top during transport. - BumpyroadExplorer

pictures, we need pictures.
bumpy - moishehExplorerWe use a container that is almost exactly like the first picture. We keep it in the basement of the MH. When we had a truck camper it went in the back seat. Easy to dispense water. We have 2- I gallon bottles that we refill from the 5 gallon. One goes in the fridge. Forget using the milk jug style of containers as they break. Landers juice is sold in the USA in a reusable I gallon size. Heavy duty plastic. I do know some people who fill their tanks from the 5 gallon garafons but I find that a PIA. Be cautious where you buy your water. Tequila's suggestion to buy it @ Oxxo is a good idea. Or any large supermarket. Some of the 1/2 tons that come to the trailer parks have a supply of caps and the plastic seals. They use tap water and then seal it up! If a real water truck comes to the park they will help transfer the water to your container. Unless we are in some out of the way village with an old well we use the water in the park for everything except cooking and drinking. Have had Montezumas revenge but it was never from the water. Usually bad food and too much of other liquids!
Moisheh - BumpyroadExplorerare those two containers rated for drinking water? the one with the spigot probably is but the other one?

I usually just use the screw top type you can get in Mexico. See picture below, not screw top, but you can get them at some places in the US and you can find them quite readily in Mexico. It is pretty easy to simply transfer water from any other brand, or if it is the same, just exchange them. Water is available at all OXXO stores which are often attached to Pemex stations. Water is cheap enough that if you are worried about spillage, just dump it out before travel days. I have even seen people filling their fresh water tanks with bottled water. It is not worth trying to purify water. I do put 4 oz of peroxide per 50 gallons in my fresh water tank, just in case I forget & brush my teeth with it, and I put a small amount of bleach in the dish water.
You can buy tippers that fit the standard 5 gallon tanks down there for about $20, You can just chuck it on the bed during transit.
Delivery in RV parks in Mexico is also common.
Some brands are screw tops, which we look for. Also available in grocery stores--Mega, Soriana, etc.
Unless you are going out into the sticks I wouldn't bother about filters etc. You can uses regular chlorine bleach to sterilise water and Brita water filter to take the chlorine taste out. - TequilaExplorerI usually just use the screw top type you can get in Mexico.
