- Banzai_BeagleExplorerThanks for the replies. We like the scenery so 95 sounds best unless road work or bad weather happens.
- Jayco23FBExplorer95 is very scenic and a bit slower, 395 to 84 is more of a highway/freeway drive both about 8 or so hours. I like the 95 route myself it does have lots of corners and slow downs but the scenery is worth it.
- The_TexanExplorer95 to us is the only way, as we don't care for interstates unless we have a deadline......Will be going home that way in 2 weeks.
- crabbin_cabinExplorer II95 has been our choice for Idaho travel, N &S, for many years. IMHO - no reason to go out of your way!
- pauljExplorer IIOn Google Maps the I84 route is 50 miles longer, but a few minutes faster. Clearly it is ascribing a faster speed to the all freeway route.
I84 climbs over some low mountains in NE Oregon, most notably a grade just outside of Pendelton. But that's all freeway grades and divided highway.
The grades on US95 mostly have to do with dropping down to Snake/Salmon River level several times.
