- jaycocamprsExplorerYou know that GA-407 is I-285 right? And yes I-75 and I-85 will be running together where I-20 joins. 5 miles south I-85 splits off to the right, Left lanes go south on I-75. Get fuel in Macon, I-16 doesn't have a lot of choices. Dublin and Metter have the best choices of food and fuel in the middle.

Sorry, good luck (but I'm not kidding)
What black hills??? - RandACampinExplorer IIWhy does everyone try to avoid Atlanta? There is no good time to go through Atlanta, I have been in jams at 0100 and breezed through at rush hour. Most of the time the "avoidance routes" are either too many miles to make them worthwile or they are the roads that are jammed up.
Your best bet I20 to Atlanta, I75 to Macon, I16 to Savannah. Stop trying to beat an unknown traffic problem. - skipncharExplorerI prefer taking the route through the black hills to avoid Atlanta :)
Sorry, good luck (but I'm not kidding) - wildtoadExplorer IIAgree with 20E to 75S. On an away game Sunday at 5, it will be OK. I too avoid 285 in MH or car for that matter.
- Romer1ExplorerThat's also 85 correct, right thru the center of Atlanta?
How would traffic be around 5PM? - IvylogExplorer IIIOn Sunday (10/5) I'd take I-20 all the way to I-75 and then south to Macon. I go straight through Atlanta all the time, but not at rush hour. More big trucks on I-285. The Falcons will be playing in NY that Sunday.
