- RGar974417Explorer2 campgrounds near the parkway in Virginia are Sherando Lake and Goose Point. Both have electric. Not sure about pull through's but very nice sites. At Goose Point some sites in loop C are right on the water. Some sites at Sherando in loops B & C are huge.
- pulsarExplorerWe've never stayed there, but we have some friends that like Fancy Gap KOA. They have pull-thru sites.
Tom - naturistNomadYou give no other criteria beyond pull-thru sites. If you are interested in sites with no hookups, Otter Creek has some pull-thru sites. I think Peaks of Otter also, but the sites are small, otherwise.
While some of the sites at Sherando are indeed large, I don't recall any of them being pull-thru. But you can find maps at the Sherando lake Recreation Area web site, and make reservations there. And you would need reservations. Sherando is very popular.
How close to the Parkway do you want to stay? While there are campgrounds on or very close, there are more options within 15 miles or so. - TerryallanExplorer II

We'll be traveling the Parkway next October and would like advice on places to stay for pull-through sites. Thanks, Lee
Thing is "most" of the BRP campground sites were designed for tents. And while Linville Falls, and Julian Price Park have pull thrus. they are just wide enough for the truck, and trailer tires to go thru. Which wouldn't be a problem, except that they are curved, and the trailer tends to try to run off the drive, which it can't do because of the rocks they use to lines the drive with. In other words. you will badly curb the trailer tires when you try to drive thru. Ask me how I know.
there are other options however. Near Glendale Springs, there is Raccoone Holler. They have some pull thrus, and have full hookups. they are also right on the BRP. also near Linville, and Little Switzerland. Bear Den is on the BRP. Haven't been there, so don't know about pull thrus, but do have full hookups.
Enjoy
BTW Call early. the CGs fill early in Oct. - scrubjaysnestExplorerNot many pull thrus in the NPS CG's. Most are just wide spots in the loop road.
There are some at Mt Pisgah, hard to level; Crabtree Falls has about 4 mostly level. Peaks of Otter while it has some the sites are in need of major repair.
Rocky Knob has a few. All are dry camping. The USFS CG at Sherando Lake you will need reservations to get in. - tragusa3ExplorerThere are a few pull throughs at "Davidson River" near Brevard, NC. It is about 20 minutes off the parkway, but makes a wonderful hub to spend a few days to a week at. Worth giving up the pull through idea too.
We've been there each Oct. for the last 5 years. Every time we show up, we get one of the last few sites and watch people being turned away. Plan well ahead. - ken56ExplorerUse the Good Sam trip router and look at what is on the route you are taking.
