British Columbia parks

Are there any parks within 2 hrs of the border that:

- have utilities (sewer?)
- Large sites (35' trailer)
  • What does "serviced" mean on the BC reservations site? Is it just power or with Water?
  • BC Parks has a good website with a map to help potential campers pick a spot.
    http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/map.html

Zoom in to see more detail for an area.
Then click on an icon for more information, and then the link within that pop-up descriptor if you wish detailed information about the park or campground.

Manning Park is a favourite of ours. Easily accessible yet plenty of recreational opportunities. A bit of a scenic drive on Highway 3 from Hope. You'll want more than 2 hours to get there after crossing the border.

Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Lake are more accessible but also busier because of that.
  • Provincial Parks do not have hook-ups, except for a very few that have 15 amp electric.

Many have dump stations, for a fee. This is when it is a good idea to have some Canadian Cash, especially coins (Loonies $1.00, Twoonies $2.00 and quarters)

Most have potable water available in the park.

Site sizes vary and can be found on the Reservation site https://secure.camis.com/Discovercamping/

Private campgrounds are a whole different thing. You can find information on there facilities through hellobc.com

  • Yes, and we have grocery stores and electric powered gas pumps too!
