If you don’t mind narrow roads, hills, curves and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world here is a trip for you. Cross into Canada and take Hwy 3 west to Creston
At Creston follow Hwy 3-A up and around Kootenay Lake for the longest FREE ferry ride in the world. Then take Hwy 31 on the Balfour side up to Kaslo. On the way you will pass by Anisworth Hot Springs as well in Kaslo they have a dry Docked Paddle wheeler, they Moyie there that you can tour. From Kaslo take Hwy 31-A over to New Denver, a few miles before New Denver there is a side road dirt most of the way that will take you to Sandon which is an old Ghost town that is slowly being rebuilt. There is also a hike up to Idaho Peak which if you can do is a fantastic view of the Valleys below including Slocan Lake. From New Denver you can use this as a base camp and explore Hwy 6 south towards Silverton and Slocan City ( village) . There is also a beautiful little lake called Summit Lake about 20 minutes towards Nakusp that if you’re lucky you can get one of the Gov. Camp sites on the lake, or you can stay at the other campground Three Island resort right next door. Once you have seen all there is to see which is LOTS, continue north towards Nakusp where there is another Hot Springs. Continue north from Nakusp on Hwy 23 towards Revelstoke where you will meet up with Hwy 1 the Trans Canada. Between Nakusp and Revelstoke there is one more Hot Springs called Halcyon Hot Springs and another Free Ferry ride at Galena Bay across to Shelter Bay
Once in Revelstoke take Hwy 1 east over the Roger Pass to Golden BC and then over Kicking Horse Pass to Lake Louise / Banff / Jasper area.
Google any of the towns or sites that I talked about or drop me a line for more Info, it is my Back Yard.
