Not to throw cold water on the north bound drive from San Simeon to Carmel but...the vista points are uniformly on the south bound side and with a toad it is no fun finding a break in traffic and parking. Also, there are several slow to 15 downhill curves followed by an uphill grade. That said, it is doable with patience and try to pull over and let backed up traffic pass. Many sports car drivers consider this a road to test their skill.
