CA 1 from Monterey (Marina) to Half Moon Bay
We're in a 38' with a toad. How is 1 heading north? Also, we're looking for diesel along the area. We'll be on 101 from Morro Bay until ... whatever route is best for getting to the Monterey area and...

When you leave Morro Bay, you have two choices to get to 101. Head east on hwy 41 from Morro Bay to 101 or drive north to just before Cambria and head east on hwy 46 to 101. 46 is much straighter than 41. 41 will take you to Atascadero whereas 46 will go to Paso Robles. From there take 101 to Spreckels ave which is just before Salinas and bypasses it to get to 68 and then to Monterey. DO NOT take hwy 1 north of Cambria to Monterey. It is very scenic but super winding and narrow. I see the last washout has been repaired until the next one this coming winter. The mountain caves in every year.
Thanks! I mentioned on another post that on a car ride yesterday we saw RV's heading north of San Simeon! It was tense enough in the car. We came in on 46 and thought about heading back out to 101 on 41, but given your description, we'll head back out on 46.
