The diving is pretty good at San Carlos, no air available in Kino. Any idea about Felipe or Gonzaga?
Will be at both locations in Sept. Will find out then & post.

Just spent the weekend at Concha. So will we camp there again.? maybe, with more attention to security. and One eye open..
I have been tempted to stay there but it was too close to what I consider a bad section of the beach. The amount of garbage the locals leave on that section of beach in a weekend is unbelievable! - HammockpilotExplorerJust spent the weekend at Concha. We usually stay at Sandy beach near Wrecked, but as we know.. that's gone.
First the GOOD... The staff and attendants are nice and always there. Restrooms are clean enough and the showers have hot water and are kept clean. Theres a little Tienda as well.
The place is strictly a dry camp with lots of room in a big dirt lot. Many spaces are beach front with easy access to the water.
There weren't many overnite campers and most of the activity appeared to be locals during the day. It was Dia de Madre weekend so Saturday was busy, but most all had left by nightfall.
Now the BAD.. Friday night noise from the local bars and clubs (musica as loud as it can be)and then an after hours party in a nearby parking lot with vehicle speakers that rivaled the bars for amplification. I would have sworn they had to be inches from the tent! This kept up till 8 am.
AND THEN Saturday night we were robbed of a couple items WHILE WE SLEPT. We were in a tent and whomever robbed us had to have been one heck of a catburgler with huevo's of steel to sneak in the partially open door and grab the only two items that were not locked up in in our vehicle. A Kindle and a wristwatch. How the heck is it that we were even a target? those items weren't flashed around. The only gringo's on the beach have to have something valuable ? It was an extremely noisy from wind that night and that could conceal the entry .. but man, like I said.. what huevos.
I shudder about the confrontation that could have happened had I awakened and .....
So will we camp there again.? maybe, with more attention to security. and One eye open.. - GalvanizdExplorer

Speaking of construction, what sort of issues are caused by all that heavy equipment hauling those huge loads of stone out to the reef? They can't be driving through town. I hope they're not destroying the new coast road with all that traffic.
Naah. The intersection at the Reef turn off has been made into a 3 way stop with a flagman usually out there. As you exit the Reef road they have made a semi truck road that continues out away from the beach area and is used soley for the trucks. They don't use the beach access road. Gotta watch out at the entrance to the Reef cause the trucks don't stop. They got them loaded so heavy with rock that they have to get a run up the hill and now they have a seperate gate that they use where the dry camping area used to be next to the Wrecked at the Reef restaurant. - dons2346ExplorerJust checked out a couple of parks today. Playa Bonto, where we are is pretty packed, just a space here and there. The dry camp area next to PB has some space. Playa de Oro has plenty of empty spaces. The park next to Playa de Oro is almost empty. The Reef is almost empty. There is no dry camp on the beach at the Reef.
Weather is great - mrnoybExplorerSpeaking of construction, what sort of issues are caused by all that heavy equipment hauling those huge loads of stone out to the reef? They can't be driving through town. I hope they're not destroying the new coast road with all that traffic.
- MK2ExplorerThey are currently building the new Marina at the Reef so the dry camp area is not being used, construction noise, dirt etc.
You can dry camp at Concha Del Mar, just east of the Playa Bonita Hotel
