I read here all the time where experienced RVers forget to latch their 5ver and drop it causing damage to their PU. Why would it be any different with an experienced weapon handler forgetting where he left his weapon.
You can't be serious. - WyoTravelerExplorerI read here all the time where experienced RVers forget to latch their 5ver and drop it causing damage to their PU. Why would it be any different with an experienced weapon handler forgetting where he left his weapon.
- ScottGNomadI'm glad they didn't accept the childish excuse of "I forgot".
- Tom_BarbExplorerSimply shows you must comply with Canada law when in their country.
When importing guns to Canada you must have the proper paperwork it is not the difficult to comply. - RollnhomeExplorerRetired military, concealed weapons permit, knows the gun laws, forgot, when asked at an international border crossing, he put a loaded hand gun in hi wife's car center console? He needs to have it taken away. Total irresponsible, haphazard gun owner. Does his wife have a CCW? What would have happened if she had been pulled over in her home state and popped open the console to get her insurance or registration and the cops saw the gun? You don't store loaded guns in car consoles and then forget you put it there. If he didn't forget then he lied to law enforcement about having a loaded gun and that ain't good. No sympathy here.
- rexlionExplorerI have been surprised and dismayed at some of the important things I've forgotten at times. We're all human.
A person forgetting where he stowed his handgun is somewhat akin to a person forgetting to latch the coupler down on the ball.... the brain gets going on autopilot sometimes.
One time I went through TSA security with a fillet knife in a side pocket in my carry-on. I forgot it was in there from the previous road trip 6 months earlier. Despite the scanner it remained unnoticed, and when I found it at my destination I mailed it back home so as not to run it through security again. - Gonzo42ExplorerThere are books available showing the gun laws in all the states and it doesn't cost very much. Anyone wanting to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights should have one and read it often, especially when traveling outside their home state.
- skramsExplorerEx military / paralegal means nothing in this or any similar case. A smuggled gun is a smuggled gun no matter how you look at it.
