I295 rejoins I95 at Augusta, then exit 113 is Rt 3 to Belfast then Rt 1 to Ellsworth.
The Rt 3 / Rt 1 section is a nice scenic ride and over the last few years Rt 3 has been mostly repaved and is good road.
Yes, we do take 295 to join route 1 near Brunswick. Route 1 goes along the coast through a number of scenic small towns including Bath, Wiscasset, Camden, etc. We like to spend a night Camden Hills State Park on the way to Acadia. We join route 3 at Ellworth.
