Colorado Springs, CO to Santa Fe, NM

Take Hwy 64 over to Taos and go down. Good visual illusions with the stream flowing up hill. Also the NRA's ranch is there and if a member they do have some camping. Also get to go thru Cimmeron, and Philmount the boy scout national ranch/campground. Go by Angel Fire 1st Official vietnam war memorial in country there are some rustic campgrounds along the route. End up i Taos a tourist town, but get to drive by the headwaters of the Rio Grande river, go floating maybe, down into Espanola and south to SF. The route is just like rural america used to be and you will see small town america in NM. Its a good trip if ya take it.

The KOA in North side of SF is a nice place to stay IMO.
