We spent a couple of days in Cholula last year and have visited it a number of times before. Yes, the tunnels are claustrophobic and disappointing IMO. Half a dozen years ago I spent two weeks living in Puebla going to language school. I lived only about 6 blocks from the zocalo. Love the markets at El Sapo and El Parian. I want to hang out with my hubby downtown and soak it all in for a weekend. Found a hotel just a block from the square on a pedestrian street that was convent hundreds of years ago. Can't wait to stay there. And, yes, the traffic in Puebla is scary. We've decided to leave the truck in Cholula. Planned to bus to Puebla and taxi to the hotel but it looks like taxis are cheap enough we may do it the easy way.
